Frankly, I wouldn't mind the Omial thing if it was modernized in the way of the two people being paired having the final say instead of the parents. Cause I can certainly say I'm rather sick of western culture's need for keeping secrets as long as possible until they eventually risk destroying a relationship 6 months later. I'd rather lay all the cards on the table and decide from there if they're handlable and worth it for whatever else the person can bring to your life. But no. You can't do that in western culture. If you point out even one of your flaws too soon, a potential love interest will write you off even if it's something that they'd actually be able to live with just fine and they have no idea what good you might be able to do for them yet. And yet if you've been in a relationship with someone for 6 months and *then* you point out the flaw. They suddenly are a lot more willing to look past it. WTF western culture -_-

(A very similar archipelago nation located in the east part of Asia with a red and white colored flag, located on the pacific ring of fire with a lot of volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis, also with very densely populated cities... There's no way to "solve" a demographic crisis. People say that we should just make it easier to have children, but it's never BEEN easier to have children. People say that it's because of the economy, but at no point in the modern Era have I *ever* heard of people being satisfied with the economy. The simple reality is that children are a detriment to any woman's career, and women don't WANT to stay in the household 24/7, and no amount of people wanting the Handmaid's Tale irl is going to change that. The only solution is to take the responsibility of producing the next generation out of the hands of the populace. Sorry for the rant.

If your going over a plummeting birth rate I’d look at South Korea 🇰🇷 now look real life lore has like a huge video on it I can’t even begin to summarize but long story short there birthdate is 0.8 births per person the whole birth rate thing seemed so weird and out of place I’m not saying that in the since that anything said wasn’t true I’m just shocked he did it during Japans video not when he did spurts Korea

@@jlexier Their birth rate is the highest in all industrialized nations outside of Israel. It's comparable to France at 1.8 which is the highest in Europe. The famine has been over for a long time. They recovered from the collapse of the USSR now because ROK had trade deals for cool tractors and stuff.

I know the population of Japan is falling, but they ain't going extinct. If population falls enough there will be a natural incentive to replace it. The Sub-Zero freeze is still an issue though, they gotta at least try. They copied western ideas, so I don't see why they can't copy the South's openness to conversation. Including that Bill Wurtz clip is wild by the way.

Westernized Japanese will just go extinct lol. Native Japanese will continue to reproduce obviously. They'd be vulnerable to replacement by invaders if those invaders weren't also hit by the same issues.
