He gave his honest opinion of the film, no he wasn't expecting it be an oscar worthy movie, anyone who does believe a film entitled Piranha 3DD is going to be of any merit more than dumbed down entertainment needs to see a shrink. That is what Kermodes problem with the film clearly is, that it is not entertaining, witty or tongue in cheek funny enough to make a worthwhile watch... in his opinion. But each to their own.

its fucking terrible. and thats why i love it ^.^ they knew that they were making a bad movie and boy did they have fun doing it. this movie is supposed to be watched with a couple of friends and lots and lots of alcohol. its perfect for what it is (as is the first one)

It's no surprise that you try equate movie watching with IQ though, because it lets you pretend you have a high IQ because you watch "thought provoking" and "artistic" movies.
