My goodness you do excellent reviews, I hope pirastro is listening! I have the original rest! For the price and hype, I bought it expecting an aid to secure my playing! Like other comments, it is a real pain to customize it to your fitting! After you have done that you are constantly keeping it from slipping off, the question is are you playing the violin our are you playing the rest? I think pirastro should offer an upgrade to its customers that upgrades the feet, number1! Number 2 there is a space between the chest and shoulder area that gives no bottom parallel support. You are right it gives great support on the shoulder for people with long necks when it is not slipping off the violin, I really think your videos are great, Larry

I've been searching my whole life for the perfect shoulder rest/chin rest combination and have pretty much tried everything under the sun, without ever finding the right solution. I've now been using the Korfkerrest for three years and it is the best! I feel it provides a lot of support but the position of the violin still feels free and relaxed, it's not locked in one place. Plus because it's so light it has a 'barely there' feeling which is super comfortable and helps the resonance as well. I'm trying out a new violin right now which is a little smaller, and I could adjust the rest to the exact size to fit. If you're having trouble with the adjustments or the rest is popping out of place, it's just not adjusted correctly. Check the videos on korfkerrest.com which explain how to do it!

Honestly I've used this rest for about a year now, half the time when it is working it's awesome. The other half of the time, it's the biggest pain in my ***. The customization is nice, but there are numerous engineering problems with it. Korfker should stick to playing violin or ask engineers for simple advice that could've made this shoulder rest not a pain. What problems does it have? Sometimes the rest will pop out of place forcing you to pull out the screwdriver and readjust it. This could be easily fixed by small changes. The screws need to be larger allowing greater torque and less chance of it popping out of place, along with a larger washer. He also could've used a longer screw with a nut on the end keep it in place more. I've had this rest's screws pop out of my violin while playing in a professional concert only to throw it to the floor and finish the concert with no shoulder rest. I'd recommend not buying it unless these issues are fixed, for 180 dollars this shouldn't be occurring.

I have the same problem. I bought it a year ago and could not use it even once in any concert or even in a single rehearsal... As you said the production mechanic is wrong...

My feet popped off 5 times today on the left side..using the little foot. It collapses because the wood is bendy and gives a little play and there you go…the left foot gives way. And I’m a light pressure player 😥 It’s really scary when that happens…. I’m using valuable practice to keep adjusting ❤️🩹 Love the stability and sound enhancement…hate the horrors of the collapse and lack of stability

The Korfker is the only one I would consider using now on all my violins, after trying most SR's on the market. It's not only light and takes the contour of the shoulder, I feel that I play without one. Such is the comfort achieved. On the new production, they are using a different rubber to give extra grip on the instrument.

I really would like to try one from the new production. I like this shoulder rest but those feet were driving me crazy.

I received a new one and believe me the feet have been improved and they have more grip. Once the feet are aligned they are not a problem even with the old one.

How low can it go? I have a short neck, will this work for me?’

I would not suggest it for short neck people, but you will have to try, that’s the best way to see if you will like it.

They do not make it for viola. I was told they wouldn't even consider it until April 2017.

Today, 2022, this shoulder rest is around 300€, 350€ for viola…. Complety crazy simple doesn’t value that much.
