''The curse of fratricide haunts Rome'' - Chapter 2 Romulus and Remus, having each built a kind of make-shift palisade -- sometimes referred to as a ''small wall'' -- were having an argument. Remus jumped the ''small wall'' belonging to Romulus, which sent him into a rage because ain't no-one jumping mah walls, bro. This is how the histories tell us Remus died, slain by his brother in a melee that followed this pity argument. This melee, by the way, involved the camp-followers of each of the two twin brother. It was not exactly man on man action, as much as a drunken brawl. This historical scene has influenced Roman history massively. Romans feared two things above all, politically and socially speaking: fratricide and kings. Imagine how these two could possibly coincide with one another. Yes, indeed: civil war. An interesting idea that I will dive into on a later episode, is that Roman history looks a lot like American history. That is, of course, American history follows closely a pattern that has been noticed when analysing Roman history and development. America and Rome both were rising powers, overthrew their kings, suffered from civil wars and consequently were led by tyrants. Oh, wait. Not tyrants, perhaps. Just... strong personalities? I will have probably unleashed a mighty discussion by the aforementioned comment. Experience the power of fratricidal comment-civil wars! Gaius Julius Caesar, the original Caesar as opposed to Caesar Augustus, and Pompeius Magnus -- Englishified to Pompey Magnus -- were brothers, in essence. In fact, they were family. Julia, the daughter of Caesar, married Pompey as a way to ensure their political alliance. Pompey, to the dismay of many a Roman nobleman, actually seemed to care about his wife Julia -- a feat quite rare amongst Romans. After the unfortunate death of Julia, the political alliance lay in ruins and gave way to a massive power struggle within the Roman Republic. Caesar versus Pompey. Many Romans considered this the final show-down of all things that haunted the Roman identity: fratricide, the fight between brothers, and civil war, the fight between civilians. The civil war, or ''bellum civile'' in Latin, was bloody, brutal and decisive. Join me next time, as we will dive into the First Roman Civil War.

less tyrants, more about a form of political clique. jakarta's political clique is especially notorious for being ultra-conservative, pro-muslim (which is against the national tenet of promoting equality among our diverse beliefs) , corrupt, filled with ex-mil people, and are probably slightly racist seeing the absolute lack of any known minority politician outside Ahok (which everyone with brains knows that he's been falsely accused of indonesia's very loosely defined form of "heresy", courtesy of FPI, our own local brand of muslim extremists)

Factions collapse if they run out of characters - and I think spawned factions only have one character, only getting more if they live long enough.

One thing I think that will help you during battles is not to focus to long on one part of the map. Build up your economy to build more armies. A navy wouldn’t be too bad now considering what the pirates did to you. It would prevent that from happening again.

Davis Luong I strongly disagree, in Rome 2 in general navies are a luxury purchase only worth building when you have max armies. They are very expensive and offer very little in terms of offensive power and only slightly more in terms of defensive power. He also cant build a strong enough navy atm to even scrape a pirate navy

Should i get rise of the republic or thrones of britannia ?
@mechanismprototype
@mechanismprototype 6 жыл бұрын
casawi1986 difficult to say, thrones of Britannia offers a lot of fun and you can sink a lot of hours into it but it becomes dry after a while because of a lack of unit diversity. Republic is fun but it's pretty easy late game because the ai never builds elite units, it has slightly more unit diversity than thrones but not much more. Each faction plays very differently in republic which is its main strength. Imo thrones would be a better buy but it really depends mostly on which time period you're more interested in. If you don't already have rome 2 then by the gods buy that it's arguably the best TW game
