No, not Tony Wilson and not John McDonnell of the GLC either (as the video description has it). It's Richard Barbrook of Our Radio and later an academic at the University of Westminster. He's still around today.

It had a built in inverter, you ignoramus. Most field based valve TXs were powered using the inverter stages taken from popular PYE PMR gear. The modulator sections were also used.
