If you're still wondering why Captain Blood didn't take damage to Blood Flames at the beginning, it's because there was a Skeletal Pirate in the space where he would have taken damage. When a Blood Flame would get triggered by an enemy moving to a square, but the enemy has an ally on that square, it prevents the flame from triggering in the first place. The same thing happens with ice traps caused by attacking enemy ships with ice attacks and boarding them, and also with movement-based epic talents on any unit, such as Hold the Line, Repel Boarders, Cheap Shot, Overwatch, Parting Shot, Readied Spell, and Coward's Bane. It's a part of the game that, for the most part, only those who have played the game a lot or those who PvP would know.

@@mocha8821 I mean yeah they should have, I really feel like the went ahead and either did it last minute cause they had nothing planned and wanted to put something out or they made it quickly and hold it off without fully testing it but either way it's not the best update at all

They could’ve done sooo much more or added something way better, they created an awesome game but don’t work on it that much and that’s what’s disappointing. This game would get hype like Wizard if they updated this game as well.

When ever blaze uses purge. *facepalm. Blaze it's for pvp it removes everyone's buffs around including yours and your opponents

Still has underwhelming loot, broken graphics on Brass encounter. Should have stayed on test/fixed bugs.

the Brass Monkey's Original fight was in a windstorm, that needed to have ships and in a group to do mutilple people. The ships don't render due to you not having a "ship" as in entering boardside combat, so niether does he, so that's why the place is all black. And i think you need to be in a group to fight him together. Cuz all the Skeleton Key Bosses return to where you fought them first.

Unfortunately, I was not able to defeat Evil Old Scratch. Too many undead kept coming. And idk where to get another skeleton key.

definitely get peopel to help you, muskateer, bucaneer and just about anything to kill him asap, witchdoctor is also good.

I didn't know you can have others help with that kind of quest. I thought companion promotions were solo only. I'll remember that next time. Thx for the advice.

According Pirate101 wiki skeleton key is dropped for Kane, Tower of Moo Manchu, Armada marines (Machine docks) and crabs from crab tunnels (Valencia part 2).

currently you cant get anymore keys, except from the promotion quest on live realm, however on test realm you can buy the key from the crown shop for free and try out the boss fights there

@@user-hz5zn8yd1v thanks. I actually just fought old scratch again with a friend and got another key. They can apparently be dropped from level 50 and up bosses and mobs

Wow these bosses are trash. If they dropped level 70 versions of their normal gear then it would probably be the best pirate update ever but as it stands these bosses are just not worth fighting ever See Replies please

How do you keep going in pirate101 if they are making you pay for a membership to go on in the game i'm stuck at level 6 well i could get a higher level by killing npcs and stuff but all i have are side quests and i want to have the expierience to finish the story exploring mooshu marelybone etc without paying because I am not blessed like that and i want to play the game and finish it without paying for anything im not bashing on pirate101 but they need to fix that because some people just cant afford 5/10 bucks of crowns or 10 bucks for a months membership pls respond and tell me how i can go on in the story to BlazeLifeHammer.

Yes it's true some can't but the game it sucks but they need money to keep the servers open and they get that from membership and crowns

Anybody else feel cheated by the fact that Old Scratch becomes a Houngan at level 38 but doesn't get another promotion until GODDAMN 70?! That's almost double his level, for the time progression to get to that point that's so long you'd have to wait unless you were long since there already
