At this point you may as well just release the whole movie with the entire score played by you guys. I would PAY to see that!

I like how this song just keeps going without losing any sort of intensity or ease of recognition. Speaking of which, have you ever considered covering any music from early Pixar movies (Michael Giacchino's stuff)? Something like The Incredibles or Ratatouille might work perfectly for an experienced brass player like yourself.

I miss playing French horn. Played from 7th grade through my first year of college. Such a beautiful sound they make. I love your videos.

He Marc, love hearing your stuff especially as a college horn student myself. Loved your wrath of Khan video and hoping to see more Star Trek stuff in the future :)

after hearing all your magnificent renditions of this movie's songs I'm honestly considering picking up the soundtrack despite remembering not liking this movie maybe it is time for a rewatch with new eyes and ears

Next up: One Day ;) Or, how about you play something from James Horner's Zorro? It has a lot of fun and challenging Horn parts :D

Great work! Always get excited to hear your performances. Maybe one day you can do Pirates "Hoist the Colours Suite". Not the short vocal but the long instrumental version used in the end credits. Which I realize as a type this the flag is black and white. Hmm. I guess technically those are colors too. LOL 📯🎹🦜🏴☠️🌴
@mallenwho2 жыл бұрын
'The colours' in ship lingo is just whatever flag you're flying under. Whether it be British, French, Spanish, American, or in this case, Pirate. It represents loyalty, not a particular colour scheme. As seen prior to the maelstrom sequence, most pirates had very colourful and beautiful flag designs. They just gave the protagonist pirates a skull and cutlasses (variation on skull and crossbones)

Can't wait for the final part of this whole sequence with Beckett's death, 'Belay that'. Don't know if you'll include the slower bit for William's death though. I understand why this vid had the full score and not the picture, sad as that might be. Would have thought that your performance was transformative enough to stand alone!

I didn't realize you made a part 2 of this! I wanted to hear the action version of hoist the colors when Jack fights Davy Jones! 😭😭😭 Will you ever do that small missing section!?

have you guys played for Hans. I was very lucky to be asked to join his "The World of Hans Zimmer" tour as a percussionist. He is extremely picky who he chooses & everybody checks their ego at the door. You guys must be pro musicians???

@@Marc_Papeghin I had a good reference, John Williams. Done the last 6 Star Wars Soundtracks with John. Avery little known secret. Dan Williams, Johns brother wanted to play Timpani in the Rise of Skywalker & i came across 8 weeks early to tutor him. We had a good six weeks intensive tutoring but he just wasn't up to scratch for the more difficult pieces so Dan played 4 of the instrumentals & i played the rest. I was sort of kicked out of my role as timpanist but it's all good. Dan has a lot of talent but you need more than 8 weeks to learn the diferrent stick techniques & nuances. I have got my job for the next star wars movie & great news John will compose the music. Not sure how they convinced him to do 1 more but all his fans all over the world will be extremely happy. I wish you guys all the best, i love all your videos & if i was to learn another instrument it would be a french horn or a oboe. The sound of soaring horns makes my hair on my back of my back & hands stand up. I don't know if you love ALW but if you wanted to hear a masterpiece of perfect French Horns performing their are 3 pieces we performed during Covid at the Theatre Royal, London to celebrate the complete re-modellinng of the theatre. Search YT for "Phantom of the Opera a Symphonic Suite. 2) Sunset Boulevard, a Symphonic Suite & 3) Evita a Symphonic Suite/ We wer told by Simon Lee to dress casual & to be completely relaxed in poise that way people could just concentrate on the music. Have a listen if you want.

Is this all recorded in one take?
@AndrewMerideth2 жыл бұрын
It would ruin the magic to reveal such things... I initially record each part in 1 take to see where my base line is. In this case I recorded 4 different tracks. From there I can see what parts need to be louder, softer, more articulate, etc. and then record each part in sections to tighten things up. in total I do maybe 3-4 takes unless one section is being stubborn, like 2:38 in this recording that I needed to do 2-3 more because my timing wasn't quite right. I would assume Marc does something similar
