This movie is 13 years old ... and yet, Davy Jones in this movie (2nd also) was and still is today THE best CGI ever created in a movie. This was peak CG... after that, studios went from Quality and production time, to quantity and rushed projects.

I've often thought this movie is a little too long and convoluted, BUT what does work in the movie is amazing, including the effects and the fights and I enjoy it quite a bit. Really enjoyed your reaction, your engagement, and you conducting the orchestral scenes.

I think that Norrington it´s a very underrated character. In his best or his fallen, his behaviour was always like a real MAN. That final redemption, leaving Elizabeth and the rest the chance to escape, honors him. And of course he loved her in all moment, and "deserved" that final kiss.

All the "Pirates" reactions are coming in fast! Thanks, Emma! Looking forward to the next. A highlight surely is the appearance of Captain Teague, played by Keith Richards. He was partly the inspiration for Johnny Depp and how Captain Jack should be portrayed. So Keith Richards makes a lot of sense here to be in the movie. And the slow-mo scene with the destruction of the Endeavour is surely a great piece of cinema. The next two movies are considered weaker than the first three. But I think they are still good fun with a great cast and worth watching. Trivia: Greg Ellis (Lt. Cmdr. Theodore Groves) was a big supporter of Johnny Depp during his trial against Amber Heard. And was even present sometimes in the courtroom.

They weren't "dead" They were in what some call "limbo" or the "undead", Davy Jones' locker.

Well, in our real history, if you are in Davy Jones locker you are dead. Davy Jones is the devil at sea, so his locker is basically hell. Thats why the earliest depiction of Jones had horns. His origens are unclear at best. He could be the irish Saint of the sea, St. Dawied or dutch captain Bernard Fokke, the real flying Dutchman. Who was sailing around Cap Horn in the late 1600s and in one storm, he cursed the devil saying "Im getting around the cap, even if it takes all eternity"

Stage 3 of 3 in the GREAT trilogy. But, the last 2 are good. bI say alm0ost as good as the Trilogy. But that is up to you. I hop-e you watched the Post Credit scene. Well Emma, you're not crazy but you do have beauty perhaps you could stand in for Captain Jacks new wife. I like this movie best of the franchise because of Depp's performance when he's on the Black Perl in Davey Jones' locker seeing multiples of himself, what a horror that would be. Calypso's tale of betrayal to Davey Jones and their love was an unexpected reveal I hadn't seen coming either when I first watched this movie and it was Calypso who gave Captain Sparrow that compass some time ago which came back full circle.

Having icicles in your beard actually feels very funny. It starts to resist any changes in facal expression. And it only happens in temperatures these pirates are dressed way too lightly for. But let's not be too scientific in a world where a beard can be used to play the organ or strangle a man. If you're into pirates, beards and scientists I recommend "The Pirates - Band of Misfits" by Aardman Studios, although I REALLY recommend the source material, a book titled "The Pirates in an adventure with scientists". If you like a highly realistic sailing-ship movie with a realistic romantic sub-plot (i.e. none), check out "Master and Commander" with Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany. A ship-savvy classic with some madness unfolding would be "Moby Dick". To conclude movie recommendations, if you want to see Jack Sparrow (sorry, CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow), Lord Beckett and James Norrington reunited (oh, and a capuchin monkey), watch "The Libertine". No ships, though. P.S.: Captain Jack on drugs (including, but not limited to rum) can be seen in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".
