I played this song as a woodwind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn, and Bassoon) with some professionals. The professionals played it first. And then the rest of the students got to come to play it with them, sight reading it as a performance. It was very successful. And I love Pirates of the Caribbean.

Nirav Lad It's pretty simple. I find it helpful to write in the fingerings for parts you might find confusing. Also if haven't already, listen to the song and follow along on the music. It helps get the rythm in your head.

Love this arrangement, playing this in my band for concert (yay!) at first i hated it and now the more I've been playing it I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS PIECE! (still wish we were playing Michael Jackson instead) I'm on flute, it seemed WAY too hard at first BUT I promise- you will end up loving this piece, it's challenging and easy to learn at the same time. This is my second year and I enjoy it so much! recommend this for any band in their second year!

Man! If you are a clarinet player, on Pirates of the Caribbean, you have to be fluent when you go over the break otherwise you're going to have a bunch of mistakes. Pirates of the Caribbean is NOT a beginning band piece. I would not recommend it for beginning band. This is coming from experience. I've been playing for 5 years. I've played many Pirates of the Caribbean arrangements. I have never seen one beginning level piece of this. I love this arrangement (and enjoy playing it), but if you're a beginning band clarinetist, I wouldn't want to play it. Unless you low leveled players want to play this to advance your skills, I think that's great. I'm one of them. Even though I can play this piece with ease.
