Davy Jones’s crew can’t die until their terms of service are up or until Jones takes the curse off them. His authority over the ocean is surpassed only by the gods, specifically the ocean gods, so when any other curse is on someone, like Bootstrap having the undead curse placed on the gold by the Aztec gods, he took it off him in exchange for putting his own curse on him. They can be hurt, even hacked to pieces, but they won’t die, and they can even put themselves back together.

the "100 souls, three days" line by davy jones is much more cold-hearted if you have read the books that show Jack's original backstory. He was labelled a pirate initially by Cutler beckett after jack refused to transport 100 indigenous slaves to the new world. He plainly told Beckett "people ain't cargo, mate." But by this point in jack's life with davy jones, the 100 souls comes full circle edit: in the ending scene where they have the drinks in honor of jack, those people holding the candles are theorized to be those 100 slaves

@turntsnaco8247 ай бұрын
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks I agree fully, but the one thing I can't unsee, is in the first scene he's in, when he's on the right facing the guy on the left, a profile shot of both of them, the depth feels off. He seems very clearly superimposed on that shot...which he is - it's literally CG in front of the actual scene/actor. But it's supposed to look like they're right in front of each other. I just feel like they got some part of the illusion wrong because it feels like Jones is closer to the camera, facing the same direction as the guy, but not actually looking at him - like some of the forced perspective tricks in Lord of the Rings. It's probably some aspect of the lighting; they got it very close, but it's like my brain just knows that the light on Jones isn't what it should be if he was really standing in front of the guy, instead it looks like he was lit up in a different room, cut out, and put on top of the actor. 😅 But other than that, it never really loses me. For the time especially, it's just incredible.

The Kraken is a seaman's legend from the 17th and 18th centuries. A sea monster that devoured many ships. Davy Jones Locker is the English term for a sailor's grave in the sea. And the Flying Dutchman is also a sailor's myth. But it was actually swum by Captain Van der Decken. Not by the Davy Jones, which was the original Davy Jones Locker's watery grave. I'm a historian by the way, but in a fantasy film I don't think it's a bad thing if you mix things up a bit. As long as you don't insist on being serious. Every mythical story is part of history. Regardless of whether it's made up or not. After all, many people believed these stories. There is no evidence for these two legends. The prototype for the Kraken may be the giant squid. The only problem is that it lives at depths of less than 300m. And is 12-15m long. In the stories, the Kraken was always described as being between 25-30 meters.

There is an after credits scene in all the films. The scene in 1 shows Jack the monkey stealing one of the cursed coins, which is why he is immortal again. "Bootstrap" Bill Turner is played by Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, while Davy Jones is played by Bill Nighy who had a small role as Rufus Scrimgeour, the minister of magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. All of the crew are CGI with the exception of "Bootstrap" Bill. Stellan Skarsgård's makeup took four hours to apply. The texture of Davy Jones's skin was made by scanning a dirty coffee cup and applying it to the screen using Photoshop-type software. To portray the character, Bill Nighy wore a motion capture tracksuit and tracking dots on his face so they did not have to reshoot the scene in the studio without him. His tentacles are mostly a simulation, though at times they were hand-animated when they act as limbs for the character. Also, he only wore a prosthetic once, with blue-colored tentacles when Will steals the key while he's sleeping. The scene where the Kraken spits at Jack is not computer-generated, it was real slime thrown at Johnny Depp. Filming in Grand Bahama Island to shoot ship exteriors was difficult because of weather and then came Hurricane Wilma where the cast and crew had to be evacuated, though no one was hurt nor were any of the ships destroyed. Fun facts: Jack's "I got a jar of dirt" and "fish face" were improvised by Johnny Depp and most of the reactions are real too. Similarly, Will's "I can do this all day" was improvised by Orlando Bloom. Keira Knightley is the one who suggested the scene between Jack and Elizabeth where she kisses him and then handcuffs him to the ship. That was actually left out of Orlando Bloom's script to get a better reaction from him. When the crew are in Tia Dalma's hut there are hints to Captain Barbossa being there: The black hat Jack is holding has a large black feather in it, just like Barbossa's hat. And after Tia lets the monkey out of the cage, he runs off and starts playing with a pair of boots that are attached to a leg, which belongs to Barbossa. Also, to get a genuine and an authentic reaction, the actors were not told prior to filming that Geoffrey Rush would be appearing in the film. They were told that the person coming down the stairs would be Anamaria (played by Zoe Saldana) from the first film. Lastly, Johnny Depp's dentist is credited at the end of the film.
@jansonshrock28597 ай бұрын
they technically can die in combat, but you'll see later they are connected to the ship and so when they get injured or killed they will just respawn or regenerate back on the flying dutchman but that's not shown explicitly in the films

Great reaction of the second movie of this saga. This movie introduced us the most famous and popular villain of the whole saga, by which until nowdays is still considered the best one among the Pirates of the Caribbean villains or antagonists, Davy Jones. Bill Nighy did an exceptional performance as this villain. Honestly, when I was a kid Davy Jones did scared the first time I saw him but later on I really liked the design of his appeareance and the CGI they used on him and the rest of his crew, who were turning into sea creatures. They were all basically dead and their spirits took the form of living organisms of the sea. The Flying Dutchman is personally my main favorite ship from the whole franchise, as well Davy Jones had control over The Kraken, who was like his pet. Also it was said or rumored that Davy Jones could have possibly had control over other sea monsters.

This one is my personal favourite. For me it’s the best action adventure film ever made because it has a bit of everything: better scenes of the ship, sword fights, the sea creatures, Davy Jones The cannibal island, the fight on the wheel, the Kraken, and more. I also love that it has a classic 50’s B-movie poster, only in this case the film actually lives up to the awesomeness of the poster.

The Black Pearl is the fastest ship at Caribbean for one condition..If the wind blows from your ship's back, yeah The Black Pearl is the fastest ship at Caribbean.. But if the wind blows from your front / against you, The Flying Dutchman is the fastest ship at Caribbean.. Those ships are twins.. And both of them belonged to Davy Jones once upon a time.. That wind condition's logic is that; The flying dutchman doesnt use sailcloth but Black Pearl has sailcloths just like other ships.. Because of this if wind blows against to you, that wind could make the black pearl slower..But it didnt effect the flying dutchman's speed.. :))
