Blackbeard's (Ian McShane's) ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, was actually a modified version of the Black Pearl, one of the vital ships in the film franchise. The Sunset, as it is called in real-life, was used in the latter two parts of the first three, and in 2010 redesigned to portray the Queen Anne's Revenge in this installment. The biggest change was above deck. The back was cut off to deck level, and rebuilt again in two stories.

I posted a similar statement on another video, but just to add some information: The original Black Pearl Galleon, which debuted in The Curse of the Black Pearl back in 2003, was portrayed by another prop. For the Dead Man’s Chest/At World’s End, the Sunset prop was employed, rendering the Black Pearl slightly different than the original one, although overall both ships remained canonically the same. I always had refereed to the Sunset’s portrayal of the Black Pearl as “sleeker” and “slimmer”.

Do u know what's worst? The revenge actually battled the main one and won (The pearl), but it wasn't shown in the movie. See how many things we didn't see: 1-The pearl being attacked by the Revenge 2- The pearl turning against her own crew and captain (Black beard's sword did this) 3- her crew gettin' killed by her own ropes (a few ones survived) 4- Barbossa losing his leg in order to escape from the death 5- The capture of the pearl 6- the pearl being bottled All of these things happened, but the director chose not to show it, they didn't even explain what happened to the main chacacters (Pintel, Ragetti, Cotton and etc) I bet it was the main reason the movie was so low rated and criticized

yes i know, i was a little dissapointed by this fact. i have a hard time calling this pirates of the caribbean, since they didnt show any naval battles. also im a huge fan of blackbeards history(the real one). he went down like a badass. but in this movie he is fooled by jack. the new trailer for potc 5 is out. flying dutchman, black pearl, salazars ship, and even the queen annes revenge will make an appearance. so we can hope for epic battles, ship vs ship.

It bugs me a bit that Blackbeard's flag wasn't actually used. I'm not sure where they got the flag for this movie from. However they DID use the design of the historical flag for the figurehead. A skeleton holding a cup in it's right hand and a spear in it's left. It's a neat figurehead.... But it was, clearly, not the historical one.

Despite the fact that the ship has holes on its sails and it is covered almost entirely in red and some of the workers look creepy, it is a pretty ordinary looking ship. The crew members apart from the top officials, are 100% human. The captain is the one who brings the ghostly qualities. He has a sword that can manipulate not only his ship but others as well, he can create voodoo dolls to torture people and can zombifie people to make them more compliant (like undead puppets). The ship has flamethrowers at the front which makes it dangerous. I say, Queen Anne's Revenge has the most chance of beating the Kraken. Teech can manipulate the ship himself so the crew can carry out more jobs in short amount of time. The best chance someone has against QAR is to keep Teech busy because if he is free, he can just take another pirate crew down by himself. If the ship manages to turn towards yours, the flamethrowers will burn the cannons and every one operating them, if there are any flammable substances inside, they can combust and destroy the ship.

Just to clarify for Pablo the Black Pearl was played by a ship called Sunset with the Black Pearl's structure built on top of it, since the Black Pearl wasn't used in On Stranger Tides, they just modified the Black Pearl's structure and just built a larger Quarter Deck and Poop Deck and gave it a new color scheme, and also just put a picture of the Black Pearl and the Revenge together and its easy to see the similarities
