Even if civilization never collapses. Tales of gold and of adventurer seeking. Of heroes and madmen clashing sword and Firing bullet. If these will still always tantalize the young minds of the youth. There will still always be told tales of pirates. In the ancient way that would please the old of all. And in stories Or tales of high sea and daring do. Ancient stories of treasure and action. To appease those of younger years far more Better off Then I. To them I say. Yarhar yohoo and away! For there is no greater adventure than the story of a pirate. And if it does. If things do collapse around. It will be the duty of storytellers like you and me... To remind the children of what the world was. And what it can be again. If only through the work of strong people by the Sweat of their brow and the strength of their arm. For a pirate story. Will always be a story about freedom. .And about having to make the hard choices. Is a soft life The better choice.? or a life of freedom Short but glorious? The name sparrow itself is actually very important to this concept. Sparrows hate captivity. Freedom is the only thing that gives them life. Makes it all More amusing that his name was jack sparrow The one bird. You can never. Have truly captured. Ironically, The very creature, Davy is merged, It's an octopus. A creature that quite literally is known to escape Any enclosure that we have been able to put it in. Somehow they are able to thanks to their lack of bones in their Mucus production system allows them to slip through practically anything, As long as it is bigger than its beak. Jones represents the desire to slip through the bars of prison and regain freedom. But he can't do it because the bars are not physical. .The prison he lives in. Was made by the very woman he loved. And is the very sea that he lives. Which makes sense why he would hate sparrow. The one man who was able to slip free of the cage 😅. To him, the idea that anyone could be able to do the thing that he was unable to do was an insult Eventually it just didn't become about paying in for his debt. Jones wanted sparrow soul just so he could say that he had won the game. . That no man could ever truly be free. Because if Somebody could. It would mean that he had failed. And even in his mortal life, Jones was a man If who would gladly rather accept death than accept failure. Except when he was Posed directly to death. He turned to calypso. Jack never did any of this. Because he knew that he could always rely on himself and those around him.

Hans Zimmer is an incredible composer, but this will be his Magnum Opus. Not only is this one of the most climactic pieces of battle music in all of cinema, up there with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, but it fits the tone of the action on screen stunningly. Every flourish, every climactic tone, every swinging note change, corresponds to action in the scene itself. He somehow crafts beautiful romance into heart-pounding violence and chaos in nothing but music tone. I could go on about this piece for hours. It's beyond exceptional.

4 shouldn't be counted as a pirates movie, but just something to make more money. It didn't have the same director, it was missing most of the core cast, including the focus story protagonists (Will and Elizabeth) (argue as much as you want that jack is clearly the favourite character but those two are what the plot of all 3 movies revolves around) That plot was concluded in movie 3 from movie 1, and they could have tied them into the fourth movie if they wanted to. They could also have more seamlessly tied in barbosa than they did. As a result it became a "new jack quest" with completely different cast location and context. Nothing carried into the fourth movie other than one loose thread executed poorly. Half the music is a blatent copy too. Most of "mermaids" is ripped from Krakan music and first movie music.

The Black Pearl; a symbol of freedom where everyone crew member wants to be along for the ride The Flying Dutchman: a prison for those who just wanted a little extra time before their judgement but ultimately got trapped, no one wants to be there The Black Pearl vs The Flying Dutchman wasn’t just a fight between two legendary ships, it was a battle between Freedom and Captivity, and how despite all odds being stacked against Freedom, they’ll continue fighting until the end, no matter how bitter that end may be True of their captains too, Jack is rather kind and does what’s best for his crew, he cares about everyone aboard his ship while Davy Jones is the opposite, he doesn’t view his crew as companions, he views them as servants aboard his vessel, and he will use them however he sees fit So in the end, yeah, the fight is more than just a pirate ship facing down an unsinkable death ferry, it’s a duel of freedom and captivity

What makes this battle so great and not many people realize is, that both the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman have the ability to "Heal" or repair their own damage during battle due to their "Cursed" nature, so they could slug it out until their crews are all dead or overboard.

the dutchman yes but the pearl no she was only cursed in the first movie

@@The_Oddonwhat are you two talking about? The Pearl is very much cursed/magic. It was raised from the depths by Davy Jones, giving it a permanently blackened appearance that persists no matter what repairs are done to it (either the ship heals itself, or the ship chars the planks the ship is repaired with after battle by itself. Either way, magic), it was the fastest ship on the seas (in some cases faster than the Dutchman, which was supernaturally quick itself) even when its sails were tattered, and it sometimes generated a cloud of thick fog.
@The_Oddon Жыл бұрын
@@cautious3571 no when they repair the pearl her repaired planks are normal colour until they were repainted black The ship is no longer cursed yes she was raised by davy jones but it doesn't state that ships raised by jones are inherently cursed Jack just likes the black appearance and keeps it that way

I find it strange that whenever I listen to this I can here every possible line said by the characters. And that is what makes me love this composition. Great work Hans, I think this is your finest piece I have ever heard. Having known that my family knows that I adore this music and this movie; I hope that they play it at my funeral. In memory of me AND PERHAPS A TIME WHEN DISNEY WEREN'T ELIMINATING OTHER MOVIE MAKING COMPANY'S FOR THERE SELFISH REASONS!!!!!!. Sorry about that rant btw.

0:31 i've always thought this to be the leitmotif of the relationship between davy jones and calypso other than the obvious piece that jones plays on his organ, just like how you can hear the heroism in moments with elizabeth and will during their marriage
