You know what's the funny thing? The way that modern pirates are being depicted in modern media (ruthless, brutal, etc) is literally how pirates of the Caribbean depicted in media back during the golden age of piracy. Who knows? Hundreds of years in the future, perhaps the somali pirate will be romanticize in media.

Fun fact: Piracy got so bad off the Somali coast in 2000’s that in a rare moment of cooperation, the US & North Korean both acted together to take down a pirate attack. Look up the 2007 Dai Hong Dan incident.

Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is a neutral ground! Justice will prevail you say, of course it will. My favourite story with pirates by far is that one time when Somali pirates tried hijacking what they thought was commercial vessel but was instead a fully armed Russian warship and the Russians didn’t hesitate on using their full arsenal to defeat the pirates, when the pirates noticed their mistake and tried to surrender they were blown up by some explosive either a missile or RPG fired from the Russian warship. Not sure if it’s real or not I’ve heard it plenty of times but never seen any legit evidence for it, same thing about the pretty recent story’s of Russian billionaire and millionaires going on trips with luxury yachts filled with arms and mercenaries to the coast of Somalia and Nigeria in the hopes of them getting the attention of some pirates who they then light up and kill for fun

Sir, could you please cover the United States naval operations against the Barbary pirates during the 1800's? Brian Kilmeade's book "Thomas Jefferson and Barbary Pirates", is an easy read on the subject if you need sources if you are interested on making a video about these naval operations.

I think there is a script error around 2:14. "Commodities rely on sea vessels to transport their goods between each other." Should that be countries or companies?

Piracy is a symptom of what has ailed the world from ancient times. Few have much, many have nothing.
