My favourite story with pirates by far is that one time when Somali pirates tried hijacking what they thought was commercial vessel but was instead a fully armed Russian warship and the Russians didn’t hesitate on using their full arsenal to defeat the pirates, when the pirates noticed their mistake and tried to surrender they were blown up by some explosive either a missile or RPG fired from the Russian warship. Not sure if it’s real or not I’ve heard it plenty of times but never seen any legit evidence for it, same thing about the pretty recent story’s of Russian billionaire and millionaires going on trips with luxury yachts filled with arms and mercenaries to the coast of Somalia and Nigeria in the hopes of them getting the attention of some pirates who they then light up and kill for fun
