He is not ready to pitch in the big leagues. Not because a player has the level of play means he is ready for the big leagues. He also needs the work capacity to go all the season without reducing your level of play and avoid injury. He is losing velocity. You might say he is still throwing 99 but losing velocity is a sign of not being ready for the level youre at and that means your chances of getting injured increase dramatically.

In the Pirates vs. Brewers game on July 11, 2024, David Morales made a significant impact, delivering a key performance that contributed to an exciting and closely contested match. Morales showcased his offensive skills early in the game with a powerful home run in the second inning, putting the Pirates on the scoreboard and energizing his team. His batting continued to be a critical factor throughout the game, as he added a double in the fifth inning, driving in another run and extending the Pirates' lead. Defensively, Morales was solid, making a crucial play in the outfield in the seventh inning that prevented the Brewers from gaining momentum. His quick reflexes and strong arm were on display, adding to his impressive all-around performance. Despite a late rally by the Brewers, the Pirates held on to secure the win, with Morales' contributions being a key factor in their victory. His ability to deliver in both offensive and defensive situations highlighted his value to the team and made him a standout player in this game.

I agree. In fact my high school coach had outfielders call "mine" or "yours" and infielders were told to not call but only listen. This being on balls that were clearly between outfielders and infielders. For outfielders in the gaps, centerfielders only called"mine" or "yours" and the other outfielders would only listen. Infielders had the short stop say the name of the fielder to catch infield flies and pitchers would clear out of the way. This prevents fielders confusion when calling is simultanious. It actually worked perfectly.

Pitch counts are the worst thing that has ever come upon the great game of baseball... I believe that it is also a reason for all of the arm injuries for major league pitchers... It is like taking out a goalie in overtime who has a shutout going... Or taking out your quarterback after he has completed 40 out of 45, yet the game is still on the line... Or taking out your hottest shooter in hoops because he has taken too many... It's entirely beyond ludicrous

I’m glad Shelton took him out. Too many young talents getting injured for overextending themselves. Plus he was already at 99 pitches. Imagine if he had 15 or 20 more pitches in each inning to follow. Plus, just to give him an opportunity to pitch a no-hitter (that genuinely means nothing really) that might get broken up in the 8th or 9th anyway?

Civale isn't a great pitchers by any means and the Pirates made him look like Cy Young. You can take the worst pitcher on any team and the Pirates can't hit them. Skenes isn't as dominant as everyone thinks. He either gives up a lead off hr. Walks a lot of batters or hits them. Dominant pitchers don't do that. Also shows why the manager for Pittsburgh is terrible. Milwaukee or any other team would never have pulled him with a no hitter through 7. Also shows why Milwaukee fired Haines so he can continue to ruin the Pirates. Milwaukee still wins the division and Pirates will be last
