I am with them being accustomed to him passing out and thought nothing about it like you said. Didn't even think about it. You do get accustomed and desensitized to someone passing out all the time on a high. Cognitive dissonance. You move through it and move on. Picked him up, put him on the couch and that was that. They didn't think he was not gonna wake up and didn't think to look. He could have still been warm. Next day he was cold.
