Piston Loading Explained

So worked a bit more on this piston loading with a few others and managed to get it to work reliably with the help of Pi and Azteched.

could i permanently load a chunk with this? and does adding more decrease the likelyhood of a failure?

It works as long as the server doesn't restart. It only needs to be reloaded to get it working again. It also can fail if players goes near it and walks away. Rather there is a small chance the players unload the chunk and the autosave hits within 10gt while the pistons are trying to reset. Otherwise can have as many as needed. In the nether a single hopper is also needed inside the same chunk.

If you load more than 100 chunks at once in a loop it only every unloads when the server restarts

Piston loaders in general is less laggy and quite easy to build with minimal effort. They however don't reload when server restarts which villager loaders do. But villager loaders have a drawback that causes them to break down if there are more then 64 villager positions loaded in the same dimension.

@@Xcom6000 do you use pistons loaders or vilager loaders for your sand and dragon egg duppers on scicraft? i wanna use some kinda loader for a mob switch for the end in single player

​@@fine93 Dono why everyones paranoid about using them but dugged used it for there nether switch and it works well. There is also the ender chest loader that has the simple drawback that it needs a full dimension unload to turn off. Otherwise its the most simple mob switch.
