Pitbull Puppy Swims In The Pool For The First Time!

Frankly the way that a dog trainer gets him in here is much more forceful than what we did. Professionals use a leash to pull the dog in which I will do but we just wanted to get him paddling first with somebody next to him to get him familiar with the water. Some people aren’t gonna even like the proper way to get him there with the leash but I promise he will like it eventually. There’s a lot of things we don’t like in life that we have to do and end up loving & I know Percy will too. Him and Zeusy need this exercise & especially Zeus because of his messed up knees due to his genetics. We want them both in there together soon being able to have a great workout without putting pressure on their joints. The pool will definitely help prevent injuries so for everybody thinking we’re doing this for our own benefit you’re wrong. We specifically got this huge backyard with a pool for the dogs, if we didn’t have them we would have a tiny backyard and no pool. If only some of the haters could see how much more fun they’re having at this house with an actual yard.❤️

I like you guys, but this video is not my favourite. I will disagree that professionals would just use the leash and force him - he clearly does not want to be in the water and is in a bit discomfort. It could be just a fear response and once he will see you guys in the pool + Zeus, he might get encouraged enough to try. Sometimes is much better to start with a really baby steps, like praising just soaking his paws in the pool. It's gonna be fine :)!

That was a great idea showing Percy where the stairs are. My last house I had a pool and both my dogs had swimming lessons. My Maltese fell in one day in the deep end and I told him swim to the steps. He had a blast while I had an anxiety attack. You and dad should show them whenever your by the pool.

They are so funny the first few times then eventually they will go in on their own and they will love the water, you and your son have the patience of angels and the two dogs love you both for it. Peace Love And Blessings
