To be fair, Americans really don't take a capella (or soccer) *this* seriously. But lots of people think Penatonix is fun and there was real market for movies and shows about a capella for a second because we all deep down every American wants to sing.
@AdamfromFWCI9 ай бұрын
Its funny how other countries can interpret US Culture. When I was in high school we had an American Exchange Teacher, and someone asked her "What age to people graduate in America, because in tv and movies they all look 30" The person was dead ass serious and I've never forgotten that moment lol

@@AdamfromFWCI in TV and film just about EVERY highschooler is played by 25+ bc the labor laws make it a bad financial move to hire -18 and rental car companies all have different rules until you're 25. So they can't just up and leave for Hollywood without committing to a Uhaul and they charge by the day. It's all about money really

Funnily enough there were two other Pitch Perfect videos I saw in just the past few days, a reaction by Badd Medicine and a video essay on it by Mike's Mic. So maybe it's having a bit of a resurgence at the moment. But man was this really a 2012 film. For it to come out four years after High School Musical 3 and whilst Glee was really popular it definitely was that edgy step up that fans probably wanted around that time. Some of the jokes are so out of pocket, and the story is just so ridiculous that you can't help love it whilst cringing. But yeah, good edit considering all the copyrighted music, so hats off. I've seen a fair bit of 2, and a couple of clips from 3 and I definitely don't think they seem as good as the original, but you might as well check them out.

Okay I didn't expect you to like this as much as you did so that's awesome. Also, this came out right as Pentatonix was picking up speed on youtube (they won the Sing Off in 2011 and this came out in 2012) so it did really well. Hoping you'll do at least the second one!

Soccer is very popular with youth sports and college/university sports. Many cities in the US have men and women teams. Soccer is the most popular sport in the US for women and girls. Probably why the US Women's Team won the World Cup twice. However after all that said, soccer is competing against more popular sports like football, baseball, hockey, and basketball.

The second and third movie is when they started queer baiting beca and chloe, so I lost respect for the movie. Eighter have queer inclusion relationships or don't have any at all, queer baiting is very shady towards the lgbt community and straight people too, uncomfortable for everyone lol

@@アキコ2003 totally agree. Also Cynthia Rose’s predatory nature in the first one was kind of unfunny to me too. I love the movie but they could’ve done without that if they wanted a lesbian character.

I've seen this movie so many times and I just caught something. The foreshadowing of that girl having "nodes" is the comment about her breath smelling like eggs all the time. It usually indicates an infection or something of that sort.. wow. It's all because you said, "why does your breath smell like egg?"

I'm not sure if I've already suggested this cause I think you've said something a few times about the Beatles but if you like them, you really should watch Across the Universe. Its a movie musical with all Beatles songs, kind of like Mamma Mia was all Abba songs. Having said that, Americans take all sorts of things seriously, depending on where you are at. My school did not have a glee club or an a ca pella club but we did have golf teams and tournaments and debate finals. Where I live now doesn't even have debate or golf clubs or glee so its all kind of depending on where you live here. I love this movie though. The second one was a good story and the ending is awesome but was not as good as the first for me. The third one was a good closure and I did enjoy it better than the second.
