Emo was more than a label in the 2000s it dominated rock radio stations it was a culture a sub-genre of rock that incorporated elements of metal and punk and i for one enjoyed everything about this music style

I see why sum ppl might say they werent in the case of the lead singer, but im pretty sure it was either a case of too little rehearsal/practice or reliance on vocal effects that might not have been managed right at the venue. If u really hear music like some ppl do the difference between this and the album version in terms of his vocals is very noticeable, not bad, but noticeably different enough in sustain, tone and depth to be considered ‘sucking live’ by some of the snobbier ppl that notice. I wouldn’t go that far bc its really just the lead singer and his vocals dont suck theyre just inconsistent with the original recording.

If a song sounds a certain way on recording ppl expect that live as well and in the case of the lead singer he was not replicating the vocal track very well. His vocals werent bad, just not consistent with the original recording enough to cause people like me to notice it

People tend to forget when recording they only do 1 song per day for the whole day unlike in live performance you do a playlist of song and continuous. in recording they can rest rework the bad part to perfection. any resemblance on a live stage on the recording is a good plus on a band and hey this is what year? let's be honest pretty much back then was crappy when you have cheap mixers and speakers on the set.

His death was bought on due to substance abuse, my guess he was abusing the benzo class drug (clonazapam) which gives the user a very calm and high affect at high doses. mixed with Vicodin which also acts on the central nervous system would make it a very nasty cocktail of drugs. doctors can and do prescribe benzodiazepines and opioids together, but at low doses. Casey’s body would of completely shut down that tragic night from abusing such potent and powerful drugs. RIP none the less.
