It hurts me that a lot of you guys are not getting the charm of Will here. Check out some of their music videos and it'll make more sense. Genius songwriter with the most unique charisma, it's a type of ironic sort of bedroom guitarist thrown into the limelight suddenly kind of charm or the essence of someone who can't relate with other people because hes a space alien, but he decided he'd give it a shot one day and made a rock band play with him on stage. It's meant to be like this, it's perfect.

i see a lot of the comments talking and complaining about wills stage presence. i love upbeat stage presentation and energetic performances, but not every band can do that. going to see someone live should be about the quality of the music and the person whos performing. if they perform and sound better while standing still and not showing much emotion, then it shouldnt matter. if i ever saw car seat headrest live, i wouldnt be mad or disappointed at their stage presence, because i would be expecting it. since i like the band, i know how they perform and how they act on stage, so i wouldnt be expecting anything more. it also depends on the bands personality. car seat headrest/will toledo doesnt seem like the kind of band that would be wild and energetic on stage, (other than the guitarist) so im really not surprised that they arent. the only time im disappointed about a performance or the way the performer acts is when im expecting an energetic performance and they come out and act like they dont give a shit. i think a lot of people misread car seat headrest and get the impression that he doesnt care about his career and doesnt care about music or performing, which i dont think is true. i think he just has a very monotone way of speaking and singing and isnt that skilled at showing tons of emotion when performing, which isnt a bad thing. and as far as people saying that his music went to shit when he moved on from bandcamp, thats ignorant. his sound did change a bit but you cant expect him to still be as open and vulnerable in his art when he has a bigger audience, especially someone who clearly has depression and anxiety. hes at a very vulnerable and intense part of his career. bottom line, you cant expect will toledo- someone who has never showed much emotion or excitement when performing- to come out on stage and fucking shred and do some fuckin backflips or some shit. you also cant expect someone who used to be a bandcamp artist and used to have a few listeners who got big and play big festivals and sell tons of albums to still produce and write the same exact way. thats just now how it works.
@MisterAquaking6 жыл бұрын
i dont know how someone could expect a lively and energetic performance from a person/band that has lyrics mostly revolving around depression and anxiety also the change in sound is probably due to CSHR turning into a band from a 1-man-project
