This was a beautiful letter from Mark Gatiss to Doctor Who. Well executed and it made me cry for William Hartnell. After that special, I wish I lived in 1963, just to meet him.
@Kryojenix Жыл бұрын
They did gloss over some of the gritty details, like racism against Warris Hussein - including by Hartnell. Which was fair enough for the celebration, but needs to be acknowledged.
@MatthewCYN15 Жыл бұрын
@@Kryojenix Julian Glover, the voice of Aragog in Harry Potter, did mention some bad moments about Hartnell back in the day 😅 But hey, the past is past And we Whovians owe Hartnell a lot despite his good or bad things
@tomnorton427711 ай бұрын
This is Mark Gatiss' best work by a huge margin. The man is nothing special in terms of his writing. Great actor but his scripts tend to be dull and, in Sleep No More's case, even out of step with the rest of a season. In the case of that episode, Peter Capaldi was clearly the Season 8 version, not the Season 9 version. But for all his flaws, Mark Gatiss absolutely knocked it out of the park with An Adventure in Space and Time. This is by far his greatest contribution to Doctor Who.

+brokenxnote To be fair, when Daleks were first released, it was not yet decided what was actually inside (later on, it was a brain beast with tentacles, of course), so in the first Daleks serial, you actually see a claw. Also, some of the non-canon comics show little blue men. Basically, Daleks were supposed to be "mysterious" on the inside, but people wanted that mystery solved as something.
