Old movies are so great to watch. Excellent stories and excellent cast. Great acting.

Surprisingly good and satisfying movie. I’ve seen dozens of these old forgotten, black and white crime and noir movies. This one stands shoulders above the rest.

This is one of the best noir films of all time. This is one I wished I'd not seen before, so I could watch it ove. Thank youjk, it still drives me nuts that no one ever fixed the broken window.

I imagine that this film got pretty-good reviews in its day - it was very well-acted, the sets/costumes/casting/writing/filming/ directing excellent! …The only thing about this I’d change was the melodramatic music; it/they deserved better. Thank-You for uploading classics!!!

Yes full of those over melodramatic strings …. Completely out of fashion as far music goes

I love the severe quips Dick Powell comes up with. Powell to Burr: “have you adopted me?” 😅

I love Raymond Burr when hes being Diabolical! Hes at his Best,in those types of roles. The Master! So much better than being Perry Mason.
@CissyBrazil4 ай бұрын
I like both types he plays. However, not Burr’s fault, but the Perry Mason show was very repetitive. Here comes another “but”…….i loved the Perry Mason show. I’m still watching it today on Prime Video.

@@CissyBrazil you're right. I'm in Cognitive decline at 79, so I'm still watching Perry Mason too. I didn't mean to say I don't like it. I just prefer him, when he's Bad!! In character.

Great cast. I have always had a soft spot for Jane Wyatt. Dick Powell did a pretty good job too, as a bored, trapped, miserable guy who made a super bad mistake. Jane was great to want to keep the marriage going, and Dick for wanting the same thing. Felt super sorry for Lizabeth. She got a real bum deal for just wanting a little consideration, and love. She just made bad choices. Great movie. Thanks for posting. I signed up for your channel. Keep them coming. ❤💛💙💚

Beautiful ending. Just make sure you do deligent thinking before taken an action. Control your emotions, for emotion is more powerful than knowledge, it is better to forgive, forget and forgo than revenging it always leads to sour taste. Thank you for posting.

IDK why she rejected Raymond Burr but she was going to marry the guy in prison; they were both bad choices. The Dick Powell character should have told his wife soon after the relationship ended. But then, the plot would have been kind of bland if he did. This was a really well written, directed and acted movie.

Raymond Burr played many very entertaining bad guys. I wish Perry Mason did not get him type cast. He plays a damn good bad and he is far more realistic than a good lawyer in the system which is even a hundred times worse today than the Perry Mason days.
