As Autumn has well and truly fallen, me and my dad decided it was time to get out after some pike. Plans to visit a river were quickly put at bay after a heavy spell of rain, so we decided to revisit Pitsford Reservoir. After blanking there last year, the only knowledge we were prepared with was our understanding of the different bays and margins.
Without spoiling too much, we had a much more successful day over the last visit. I was fishing 8wt fly rods with a DI7 sinking line and an intermediate while my dad fished lures like soft baits on jog heads and big crank baits.
Fishing reservoirs from a boat isn't something we have loads of experience with so it was great to have some success and we'll be back for the 20lbers!
