Think about his for a moment- she knew real-life actual slaves. Slavery ended in 1865. A baby born in that year would have been 46 when she was born. So much history.

Not to take away from your point, but we know them, too. SIăvery was never truly abolished in this nation. It just changed forms and became something for "criminals."
@akbananachucker2441Ай бұрын
@@leonfrancis3418 you are so stuck in the slavery so much that you keep bringing it back in what ever conversation you can I bet. The left and the media keep pushing us against each other to keep us busy so they can spend all our money while we're busy fighting each other. This is why the rich keep getting rich. Look at the Obamas. They have like 12 castles all over the world. While Michelle says that growing up hehe was told not to trust anyone with money but they have 100 times more money that anyone in the USA. Why should they have so much more than the poor blacks in the USA? They took it all from the poor and they aren't giving anything to anyone to help. It's all about money. The filthy rich are controlling everything any way they can. They don't care about race but they know how to keep us busy all the time. I'm not saying forget slavery but none of us have known any slaves or had anything to do with it. You are a sheep being led by the rich because you let them through the media and can't see it. I don't expect you to change immediately. But just watch how much better we all do when Trump gets in office. And yes he's gonna put a bunch of people in jail. But that has to happen for them good people to push ahead. The dems were printing money, giving money away, and making money on all of it at the same time. And it's all being done by the super rich like the Obamas, big food, big pharma ect. Lets Stop fighting each other and pay attention cuz they are killing us every wich way.

That's all you got out of her life. People born prior to the 50s didn't reflect on that as much as you think. I used to talk to people born around her time and little earlier and would have loved to talk to those born in the 1800s but these African Americans talked about their childhood and fond memories and they talked of their disappointment with the youth of the 80s, 90s and 2000s that were so focused on racism or impressing people than growing spiritually closer to Christ and taking advantage of education and the opportunities they had to do things her generation couldn't do at the time. They spoke of faith and love and didn't really bring up racism. It was apart of their time as people today may remember slavery, war, etc in other countries but it doesn't have to be the full memory. They overcame so we could have more but we rather live in the past. They honor God and prayed for a better future while now talk of ancestors and Africa. It's like night and day. We are stagnant and they fought for change.

Thank you I was listening to his take away and it sounded like that’s what he was saying… working in the field and religion = a long life.
@MeliMeli66Ай бұрын
Exactly that would have shortened her life and lead to life long chronic health issues such as a back pain from slipped discs etc. The skeletons that they dug up from slaves showed that back breaking labor left some people including young children with their muscles torn away from their bones. Hard back breaking labor in a hot sun is a sure fire way to shorten anyone's life.
