If as they say her daughter Yvonne took over the life on her mother, on Jeanne's death in 1934, due to tax purposes, and since Jeanne's husband was so influential in the little town, that would explain why nobody even questioned it, because how would they have even known anything. The true fraud was therefore in 1965 when she sold her house as a 'viager' (life estate) and supposedly she was already 90 years old and so the buyer thought he might only have to pay the allowance for another 10 years, but in fact, if it was the daughter, she was only 67 years old and lived for another 32 years, so although she died at the old age of 99, nobody would have agreed to pay a 'viager' (life estate) allowance to a 67 year old...

Apparently for the “Facebook coalition” documents can never be faked. They have a blood sample that could easily show if it is the mother or daughter. Jeanne married her second cousin, so Yvonne would have 12 great-great grandparents instead of 16 like Jeanne-and this could be easily determined by homozygosity of the alleles in the sample. But again, the anti-switch side argues that Calment’s validation was so great that no further testing is needed.

Interesting mental exercise. From an article of the New Yorker: “When Calment was ninety-four, in 1969, her notary bought her apartment. The purchase was made under the French en viager system, in which the buyer agrees to make regular payments on a property that the seller continues to live in. In such an arrangement, the buyer essentially wagers on how quickly the seller will die. The Calment apartment proved to be an epically terrible investment. By the time the notary died, in 1995, he’d spent nearly two hundred thousand dollars, more than twice the value of the place, without ever taking occupancy.” Let’s suppose Jeanne was actually Yvonne; would her notary had subscribed the viager agreement with a 71 years-old woman? Are you telling me that someone who had known her even for 5 to 10 years prior to that date (hence the expression “her notary” vs. “a notary”) could have mistaken a 71 years old Yvonne for a 94 years old Jeanne? No, she really was mommy Calment and not the daughter. What settled the debate once and for all were 2 things. First, even though the French Government did not allow anyone to exume her body for study, they did get a tooth. Just like you can estimate the age of trees by the number of rings inside it's trunk, you can estimate the age of someone by the density and hydroxyapatite configuration that forms the enamel of the tooth. And her tooth sample indicated that is belionged to a person at least 110 years old. Why is this important? Because we get are permanent teeth in our early teens to early twenties, so if you add 10--15 years to the age of the enamel of her tooth, you get roughly her age. The second thing thaf closed the deal is that Calment could fluidly write in a dialect of Provençal that had gone extinct in the 1880's. But it's more than that: she could use slang from that dialect that was so obscure that only someone that was a teen in the 1800's could know. It would take a linguist at the PhD level to know that dialect, and even the linguist would probably not know the slang. It is extremely unlikely that an old woman would learn an abscure dialect from 100+ years before to that depth just to practice a scam.
@bananacabbage7402Ай бұрын
A tooth cannot be used to show that someone is over 110 and there never was a tooth from her that was analyzed. Wherever that claim comes from it was made up. She could not fluently write or speak in the local dialect. She knew a few words as anyone living there long afterwards would have done.
@petercoderch589Ай бұрын

Without genetic modification, nobody is going to live to 150. And since that hasn't happened yet, that person isn't alive today.

What a terrible clickbait title about the longest documented living human ever.

The only person to get older than 120, there had to be a mistake in the documents

Let's be realistic i don't believe she was really 122 but i do believe she lived to be 99 years old

Well the oldest person alive today is 119. So it’s not totally impossible. I don’t get why they can’t test the bodies
@thisismonitor40992 жыл бұрын
@@KingJackson11355 there isn't a test you can do - nothing whatsoever will tell you how old you are. Carbon dating only work AFTER a person dies. There is absolutely not certain way to do it - the best you can do is prove it through documentary chains but that isn't 100% proof.

I don't believe she lived that long. I rather think her brain didn't function that well at her age and could have some delusion or something like that.
@KingJackson11355 Жыл бұрын
Well Kane Tanaka lived to 119 and Lucile Randon was almost 119 so it’s not totally impossible Jeanne was 122. I wish they would test the bodies so we know for sure.
