Pittsburgh Pro 3/8 Swivel Head Ratchet

This was my main ratchet for years. Engine swaps, engine rebuilds, couple transmission rebuilds, engine work, maintenance. Interfere timing belt changes Only replaced it b/c I thought I lost it, then I found it and kept using it.

I had all three of the Pittsburgh swivel head ratchets and passed them on to my son when I picked up the Icon Swivel head ratchets. I love them and yes, I use them for almost anything now. Basically, my go-to ratchets. I prefer the Icon 90 tooth round handles non-quick release ones over the Pittsburgh, but they are more expensive.

I want to upgrade mine to the Icon. The swivel head is very convenient.

hold on! I use snap on and matco... and I watch your channel! While I do have a couple Pittsburgh, my favorite ratchet is a Matco 3/8 with blue handle. hey.. it matches my Harbor Freight Five Drawer Tool Cart!

Which one you prefer, flex or swivel?

For smaller sizes I like the swivel. Larger bolts or ones that are very tight I like the flex. The big benefit of a swivel is that you can quickly loosen bolts once they are loosened up.

I believe it's made in Taiwan.. too bad nobody will make same quality and similar price ratchets in u.s. but I guess that's caused by government regulations huh
