I gotta hand it to Wilson. He definitely seems intense and into it for sure. I was on the fence about him at first. But I have to say I appreciate his intensity and he has a great attitude.

These fools don’t get it! Fields wanted to come to Pittsburgh BEFORE Russ signed, when he thought his competitors were Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. He didn’t ask for the Russell Wilson smoke! The Pittsburgh option only became attractive to the Bears AFTER Russ had signed, and the price dropped for that trade to go through. The Bears had been seeking a #1, a #2, or a #3 from other teams. When Russ signed with Pittsburgh, they rewarded Pittsburgh for taking Fields by only asking for a conditional #6. Why is that? Chicago wanted Fields in Pittsburgh because they knew Fields would wind up being QB2 at best for the entire season. The primary reason they got rid of Fields was to avoid the potential crowd boise of a QB controversy in the event that Caleb Williams struggles early. That doesn’t go away if Fields is starting on another squad and manages to look good for a few early games. The Bears needed another team to give them a desirable pick or player for Fields, and then sit him on the BENCH! Pittsburgh was the only team that offered at least one of those benefits. Also notice how Fields worded his answer. He doesn’t have the mindset of SITTING all year. “Not sitting” doesn’t mean starting! Not sitting means PLAYING meaningful snaps at various points or at least getting significant 4th quarter work when Russ has built the Steelers big leads. Fields is posturing now, but he knows good and well that he was p!ssed when they traded him to Pittsburgh after Russ had signed there. The Bears sent Fields to Pittsburgh so he would not be the starter. What I don’t understand is why everyone is trying to push a 35-year-old Russ out of the league while predicting big things for 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers and 36-year-old Kirk Cousins, when the latter two are coming off injuries season-ending injuries and have never been in Russ’s shape or taken care of their bodies the way Russ has. I expect Russ to be better than both of them this year, as well as Matthew Stafford, who is 38 or 39. Russ is your starting QB and your franchise QB for the next 4-5 years. If Pittsburgh is smart, they’ll trade him for a top-flight receiver.

It's hard to believe this team was 10-7 with the subpar and poor QB play from two of the three QBs. If they can get good QB play and a fast start and hold their own in December it could be a good year.

Both our QB's are going to push each other. People keep trying to put one against the other. Smh. They can coexist about a 10 years gap. It's all love ❤️ between them. We always naturally compete to see where we are at ability wise.

I need him to have more crisp footwork though. Looking at his verses Russ you can tell the difference. He takes like six small steps for s 3 step drop. But he seems to be getting the ball out quicker.

😂 Keep that same energy during the season. Fields was 10-28 as a starter....he has one 300 yard passing game in his career....one! He missed wide open receivers on a regular basis (watch the tape) and he was statistically the worst NFL QB in the 4th quarter. Great dude but was not a great QB. Your own team didn't even pick up his 5th year option after trading for him. GTFOH.

@katiecaddle209 Zach Wilson was 13-21 as a starter so I have no idea what you're talking about. If that is a winning record you have bigger problems. Related to a record not being a qb stat, I listed multiple stats in my reply so again, I have no idea what you're talking about or what point you're trying to make.

@khalfanikeme I think JF2 should and will be more than just insurance. This kid is 10yrs younger than RW3 and sure, look, listen and learn at an organisation that’ll actually teach and help him like the Steelers, and imho, he’s out QB of the future. No one has even remotely seen what JF2 is capable of, I think and hope he’ll surprise a lot of people. I’m backing him anyway, but either way I just want us to be successful and win a 7th Lombardi.

What? If there’s any QB you can rely on to be healthy, it’s Russ. He has missed a total of 7 games in 12 years, which includes the total of 3 he missed in 10 years with the Seahawks and the two he missed last season due to benching in Denver solely for financial reasons. If injuries are your excuse for preferring Fields, you need to switch your preferences fast! Before his throwing hand injury in 2021, he was on track to never miss a game or start in his career, and out of the games he has played, he has only missed five due to physical ineligibility. We can argue that he should’ve sat out the rest of the 2021 season, but it turned out that Russ needed to play through his rehab to get his hand optimized again. He also played through two leg injuries, a concussion, and broken ribs in 2016 to lead the Seahawks to the playoffs. He didn’t miss a game and still threw for 4,000 yards that season. So not only is he durable, he’s probably the toughest cat to ever play the position!
