Given the Tories pulled funding from green projects over the years the cost of our electric has gone up to the highest in Europe. So why is renewable energy cheaper? because the energy input is Free and doesn't go up with inflation & doesn't have the same extraction processing and transport costs as Oil and Gas. Even the capital cost has come down + the efficiency has gone up.
