Maybe you should also explain where they can learn about the production process for different projects and companies, because the pipeline is specific everywhere you go. Not really fair to tell someone with no experience to base their portfolio on knowledge they would only have if they experienced the job they’re applying for 🙃

Quick tip: *Know things that are not known to you.* Bye. Peace out. (Jazz music plays)

That’s actually really sad… because companies used to want to train people. But apprenticeships and internships are hard to come by. The number of jobs in the industry is shrinking, and the number of really talented and creative people is only increasing. So there’s that. You have to have skills, but the industry gets harder and harder to get into with each passing year. The bar goes higher and higher. I just hope talented and passionate artist do not put their self-worth in other people or studios. Try your best, do what you love, and then move on.

Thank you sir for bringing this type of videos. Its really help artists like me who are confused what to include in a portfolio😊

makes sense, but how would I go about doing this?
@toratsubasa917 ай бұрын
Right? "Put your work in context" What context? If you're doing character design for your portfolio, that's not for any specific "project". Do they want you to make a project and show them that you can use skills from character design and environments?
@shada07 ай бұрын
@@toratsubasa91 now ill have to re watch this video, but he said something about making a character sheet that shows others artists ways to build that character. Can we see some examples? I have a simpson character design book that points out elements of the characters like Bart has 7 spikes on his head or something

Learn about the different departments in a pipeline. If you're a character animator for example, it's irrelevant to show that you can also model, rig, voice act, etc... Or if you're a storyboarder, don't draw the most detailed peices of art for each panel, that's not necessary for that role
@shada07 ай бұрын
@@wofkwengel I hope there is more to it. I've only been reading about portfolios for animation a few weeks ago, & have already heard that 5 times
@wofkwengel7 ай бұрын
@@shada0 This advice is very broad, so of course there's more to it. There are so many departments in a studio that you might wanna aim for. It's important to learn the role you want to fulfill and the requirements the employer might have for a person enrolling for it

It's depressing seeing this channel creating a downfall for itself because people are asking nicely to make their animation video horizontal as opposed to vertical. Not everyone enjoys watching KZbin in vertical format.

why do a shorts video in the format of a normal video? (make NO sense!)
