Small Fry might be one of my favorite overall Pixar shorts, it's just a fun little mini-adventure that introduces us to a different side of toy life in that universe. And that's really all I ever wanted after Toy Story 3, these shorts are perfect for the characters, I had no real interest in TS 4 and I definitely have no interest in a 5th full length movie.

I really like Small Fry as well, and honestly, I prefer it over The Muppets (2011) which included the short theatrically. It's odd that it wasn't included on the home media releases of The Muppets, but at least it's available on the releases of Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2 and Toy Story Of Terror.

Personal preference, yet Toy Story that time forgot was personally at the top of my list in this little side series. Yes I freely admit it's more or less a more action packed rehashing of the whole' toys not realizing they're toys' trope', yet honestly I find that aspect rather endearing and interesting. Makes me wonder how many toys suffer that sort of syndrome when they first get taken out of the box. Are they all created with the mindset of not really knowing? Do they need to be mentored and tutored by older toys? Honestly it's such an under developed idea I'd personally love to see more of it one day. Either way, great video.

One thing I find interesting is that the armor in the Battlesaur's arsenal fits Trixie perfectly, which led me to theorize that Trixie was originally part of the Battlesaur toy line, maybe as a combat mount or something.

Nice video as usual Dazz. I find it kind of amazing how impressive the quality is in all the Toy Story shorts. I agree with your ranking as Toy Story of Terror is fab, captures some of the first films horror but gives a really cool spotlight on Jessie and her claustrophobia. And Small Fry is a classic, I love how much the creators thought about the toy designs for this one, they are all unique and have some fun mechanics like the boxing gloves. And from a worldbuilding view it makes perfect sense for there to be mini Buzz & Zurg toys at a fast food chain. This honestly just shows how ridiculous it is to claim that Lightyear is the movie Andy watched as a kid, what with everything in the TS universe counting against it. I think Lightyear should have been a completely original story not focussed on Buzz, or if you want it to be about him, have it as a grown up reboot of the character of Buzz created by an adult Andy?

One thing that makes Toy Story That Time Forgot one of my favorite Pixar works **PERIOD** is that Disney commissioned Studio Trigger to do a balls-to-the-wall hardcore intro for a fictional Battlesaurs cartoon in the style of a 90s action anime.
