I’m not sure that Ernesto really died that second time. Yes he got crushed by the bell, but if I’m interpreting it correctly, you only die in the Land of the Dead once your completely forgotten. While Ernesto did horrible deed while he was alive, he’s still a musician. His story has still been told, and possibly be continued to be told. It’s called notorious or infamous. There are plenty of examples throughout history....

The fact that he puts Hopper’s death got the gold medal as the most gruesome rather than Syndrome. Hopper got eaten by a bird while Syndrome got shredded to bits by the jet turbine. Syndrome had the most gruesome death than Hopper in my opinion

Syndrome's death is more brutal, but being ripped apart by a jet turbine and caught in an explosion, meaning as traumatic as it was, he probably died very quickly. Hopper, however, got eaten alive, by an animal that didn't chew him, meaning his death would have been drawn out, either being suffocated or digested

What is more gruesome about Hopper's death was how slow it was and what it represented. Hopper was a being that reveled in his superiority complex. In fact, the scene when his brother asks him why go back to the ants to get food when they have enough to last all season and that by the time they visit the anthill again the rains would come making it treacherous to fly in, but he says, in his words "... it's about keeping those ants in line!" This death scene signified how he was knocked down a peg by something far bigger and more threatening than he would ever dream to be. Sure it's similar to Syndrome's but Hopper's was more gripping on how much time it took kill him, giving him time to realize this truth, that despite how great and intimidating he thought he was, there are bigger fish out there, and in their eyes, he is nothing but an insect, pun and no pun intended.

Not only that, but (as the video mentioned) Syndrome had no superpowers. Some superpowers such as super strength, super speed, and flight require enhanced durability to be reliable, so the other shredded character suffered longer before the blades killed her.

The more you think about hoppers death, the more frightening it gets. To the bugs, the bird is pretty much like the height of a building which pretty much means they're at the mercy of the bird if she(yes the bird was a girl) gets ahold of them. There's no chance you'll get free and that's also why I consider hopper's death as the most gruesome. There was nothing he could have done

4:15 Even though he did actually die in the movie, his death really doesn’t make sense to me. I mean, if you’re meant to be in the afterlife you shouldn’t be able to die unless it’s due to being forgotten. It would also be difficult to forget him because he would be infamous. Living on under that bell with everyone hating him until all of the people that would ever remember him forgot. Since that would be something that would be pretty much impossible for Miguel to forget, it’s pretty safe to assume he would be stuck there until Miguel died, if not longer. So he would just kinda be stuck there forever being crushed until the last memory of him faded away.

Yes. Hector explained to Miguel that you can die again in the after life if everyone who is still alive and has met you forgets you. But, since Ernesto was famous, it's pretty hard to forget him. Even after the truth was revealed, people will remeber him as "Evil", or infamous. Therefore he probably was trapped under thst bell for a very long time.

Hopper's death is definitely the worst. Dismemberment as a form of death was an actual form of torture back in the day, and the idea of knowing you're about to die a horrible death at the beaks of your worst nightmare makes this both physically and psychologically the most traumatic.

Hopper's death was always the most gruesome to me, imagine getting ripped apart by multiple beings pulling you in different directions as they eat you. It was so gruesome that Flick and Ada had to look away before it happened to spare themselves of the image. When was the last time the heroes had to look away because the villain death is so gruesome? Mostly they just look at it and not really care or they don't see it at all.

I don’t know that Ernesto actually died at the end of Coco. As far as we can tell, the skeletons in the land of the dead can only truly die via “the final death” when no one alive remembers them, and even though someone defaced his memorial with the words “forget you”, he isn’t forgotten. As long as people remember Hector, they’ll have to remember Ernesto as well. He may not be remembered fondly, but he doesn’t have to worry about being forgotten.

I have to say this: Sindromes death was way worse. He survived getting sucked through the engine. It happens on Aircraft Carriers and the people survive long enough to die from burns. He likely survived for a few seconds. Long enough to suffer.

5:11 relatable, to who? Syndrome was an entitled jerk who nearly got himself/a trainload of people killed because he refused to stop stalking his favorite celebrity. If Bob drove him home the first time he snuck into his car and told his parents, (Supers probably wouldn’t be outlawed (for awhile) and) Buddy would’ve still become Syndrome. If Buddy wanted to be a hero he could’ve flown cats out of trees, pulled old ladies out of the way of traffic. To list a couple things he probably saw while trying to sneak into the Incredicar.

Considering Hopper's death was wicked scary, Bug's life should've made Hopper do more evil things as a villain rather than just attempt to take over the colony. They should've had him commit murder or do something flirtatious to Princess Ada (like Frollo and Esmerelda) so I'd feel more satisfied with his death. I felt more bad than satisfied for Hopper's death seeing as taking over a colony is not the most evil thing a villain can do.

5:06 I think someone said somewhere that Ernesto didn't suffer a final death here and that he eventually got out from under the bell, but it's unlikely that he'll receive special treatment in the afterlife anymore and he'd still be remembered in the living world (though mostly in the same way that we remember Ted Bundy [if Investigation Discovery or some other true crime outlet got wind that a celebrated musician who died while in his prime not only stole his work from another musician but murdered said musician, they would be all over that]) so whatever punishment he received would likely last for a long time, especially since his exposure (whether it's just the theft or if details of Héctor's murder came out as well) coincides with Héctor getting the recognition he deserves and his living family's new-found popularity (they were likely respected before since they were part of the community with a business that has been operating for decades, but they became much more well-known when the truth about Héctor came out since we see a tour guide talking about the letters containing the song lyrics).

What is more gruesome about Hopper's death was how slow it was and what it represented. Hopper was a being that reveled in his superiority complex. In fact, the scene when his brother asks him why go back to the ants to get food when they have enough to last all season and that by the time they visit the anthill again the rains would come making it treacherous to fly in, but he says, in his words "... it's about keeping those ants in line!" This death scene signified how he was knocked down a peg by something far bigger and more threatening than he would ever dream to be. Sure it's similar to Syndrome's but Hopper's was more gripping on how much time it took to kill him, giving him time to realize this truth, that despite how great and intimidating he thought he was, there are bigger fish out there, and in their eyes, he is nothing but an insect, pun and no pun intended.
