Trying to figure out why he put the mic on the sides when it's not including the sound from the top speaker as well. Some phones are at a disadvantage
@BooredAtWork6 жыл бұрын
That is the loudest out put for the device. The mics for the pixel 3 XL and Razer phone where placed about because those speakers are forward facing
@lazarus4796 жыл бұрын
Sure, the sound meter should have been placed infront at the middle of each phone, like a normal person would be listening to it. That would make sense...
@spinworkxroy6 жыл бұрын
I agree.. sound volume should be measured at a logical listening position..
@BobHasAVirus6 жыл бұрын
Your whole test is flawed. The noise meter appears to be varying distances from the speakers, also as he mentioned some phones are at a disadvantage. Because the test output levels are so close, even a few mm of distance variation can change the outcome. Please re-run the test with the same phone stand but have the noise meter a distance of 1 meter in front of the center of the phone. Because right now this just seems like another low effort youtube video with keywords to get views, but little actual valid information. It won't take that much effort but you'll be giving us good, valid, and important information.

Having tested a few of those, from regular usage, it's pretty much the XS Max and the Razer 2. S9+ and Note 9 sound thin. Pixel 3 haven't have one in my hands yet, but the Pixel 2 XL sound was WAY inferior to the iPhone X. One thing that the iPhone managed to achieve with such small speakers is there's a feeling of bass. Not just high mid-range crap.
@MiteshShah076 жыл бұрын
The speakers on the pixel 2 were low key one of my favorite features of the phone, good to know they've made them even better with the pixel 3.

Why do you and a lot of You Tubers review based on just loudness and not fidelity?
@BooredAtWork6 жыл бұрын
In terms of fidelity I go with the Galaxy and razer, dude to Atmos. But loudness is the easiest to show and a claim a few companies have made. Plus the fidelity aspect can be subjetive. Thus I clearly stated this is a loudness test
@BrawndoQC6 жыл бұрын
Sound quality, my personal preference is the iPhone XS Max and Razer 2 (from real life testing). I don't like the S9+ nor Note 9 sound at all. They don't sound bad, but they sound like the EQ is flat. iPhone has a feel of bass, I like that. Didn't have a chance to test the Pixel 3 XL yet, I will probably never will, Google screwed the design.
@benschipunov74086 жыл бұрын
Note 9 because of the headphone jack. iPhone Xs Max comes with no dongle. Now what? Drill a hole inside it?
@mindflayer6 жыл бұрын
Booredatwork.com As he says, sound quality and preference is highly subjective. Some folks like planar bass, some don’t. Some like flat signatures, some like U or V shaped. If you’re really into fidelity, LDAC BT headphones or wired phones.

Logically speaking, the mic should be at the users prespective or position, not wherever the speaker is on each phone. One other note is the surface used is not practical, people usually use tables or desks. Just my 2 cents.

I'm wondering if it would be better to test the loudness at the average listening distance like about a foot away and in front of the phone instead of next to the speaker. I think that would provide better results.

The Beat goes on, I can understand all the LG haters, their not used to an underdog winning, the fact is all these phones sound good for phone speakers, but your not gonna throw any parties with any of them, so take that L, keep it moving and enjoy your phone for what its ment for. Now if you want to hear a real battle throw on some headphones and lets see who smokes the competitors, that would be LG 👑, still loving my g7, this phone has got everything✌🏼😁

I think for this test to be the most accurate, you should set up the phone up as if you were watching it, and place the meter in front of it like you were looking at your phone. It would make the most sense in my opinion since I don’t know of anyone who puts the phone up to their ear to watch a video or listen to music.

can we have like realistic test with measurements taken in front of the phone and 30cm distance like when you are actually watching some KZbin?
@danishblunt96984 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but how exacly did the pixel 3 win? It was slightly louder yes, but the quality of the razer was far better, the razer phone actually played scary low frequencies, hearing those frequency from a phone is amazing in itself. if you just care about db, then go into the atmos and push the EQ to +12db, it will sound like trash but good lord is it earraping loud.

When i was so disappointed with my Pixel 2 XL for its screen (half part of the screen is not responding at all) and decided to sell it, there is the 'camera' that no other brand phone can replace :( and now Pixel 3 XL got me falling in love again (ignoring the big notch thing) i guess i'll just need to wait for the real usage review to come out before decided to buy one.

Sir, you have the best test videos! Why is this so important though? Because of all the media that my fellow earthlings absorb, lol. Seriously, they need to be good, and for the price these days they better be. My son has the Note 9 and they are the best that I have ever heard. I was curious about the ThinQ so I went to a store for a listen. It was hot garbage! What gives? Trump it up to a beat down floor model? I was waiting for the Pixel 3 to arrive, and I think that it will be my next phone barring any super deal for something else the stores throw out there next month. Keep up the good work!!
@ssshonnn6 жыл бұрын
No one puts the phone to their ear to listen to music. Test mic should be at an average distance from the phone imitating a person holding phone in their hand viewing the screen. Bottom facing mic phones should be extreme disadvantage since they do not point to your ears. This test does not replicate real world use.

Even my cheapo $60 2.1 chinese clonic brand Klip Xtreme runs circles around this mobile speakers. I got the S9 and I can say about the quality of the speaker -Sounds too robotic at 0-30% volume (the shhhhhhhhhh vibe) -Above 80% gets loud but distorted starting to feel robotic -At 50-65% seems to be the sweet spot for the S9 speaker Still feels like ear cancer vs my desktop speaker. S9 with headphones (a cheapo $25 panasonic) sound tons better but the phone default normal EQ seems a tiny bit flat.
