I prefer the new design. In fact I wish it also had a bezel at the bottom and gave us stereo front facing speakers. Current Pixel 4 will obviously be a nice mobile to use but it's sooo overpriced. Really wanted to upgrade my Pixel 2xl but just doesn't feel like it will be worth it. Grandpa Rick Osterloh is making sure the Pixel slides into obscurity. GPE Note 10 would be great. That said I actually prefer OxygenOS on OnePlus over Android on my Pixel. Waiting for OnePlus to finally get the camera right Definitely Apples year though. They nailed it this year. iPhone 11 Pro is definitely mobile of the year including the best cameras, especially at night. iPAD 12.9 pro looks like a beast for even professional work like video and audio. iPadOS is everything I hoped Android would be on Android tablets but obviously killed off in favor of ChromeOS

And Samsung is still doing security updates for the S7. People thought Google would update their phones for longer than the competition. There's a chance that after December, an S7 which was released 7 months before the Pixel 1 will be a more secure device to use and have more features.

It just seems all the previous nexus/ pixel devices forces you in to some sort of compromises in terms of hardware while paying for a premium when compared to other android phones. I owned the original Pixel XL then switched to Samsung, now back to the Pixel 4 XL. I absolutely love it. Its not as flashy as the Note9, it doesn't overload you with features, but the user experience is amazing. Clean, fast, simple, it just works. OnePlus is good but they aren't even close to as secure as the big boys. Their biometrics are not at the same level, like their in display fingerprint is optical not ultrasonic (like Samsung) and their face unlock is also 2d (regular camera) vs Face ID (apple and now Google) which is 3d (depth)....... These are secure enough to make payments

I absolutely love my Pixel 4 XL, the only minor issue I can think of is the battery size and life, though at work I can charge it during the day so not really a issue for me, in terms of pricing in Australia the Pixel 4/XL, 64 gigabyte is priced at 1049$/1199$, that 1199$ is the same price as the base iPhone 11 64 gigabyte model, the iPhone 11 Pro, is miles more costing 1750$, iPhone 11 Pro Max 1900$ these are base 64 gigabyte models, other than battery life in these iPhones nothing to me is worth the huge price difference between the two.

jimmy cychowski I think a lot of Pixel fans compare with iPhone to justify their purchase. However, to be fair Android -v- Android is the real comparison. When you do that the Pixel looks expensive and under spec. In the UK the Pixel 4 XL is the most expensive Android phone ATM. The N10 can be had for £300 less, the P30 Pro £450 less, the OP7T Pro £350 less, all from carriers, maybe even cheaper eBay. So poor value at this point in time and sensible consumers should not buy till later if they have to have a Pixel. The Pixel 3XL dive bombed in price so expect second hand poor returns but more realistic prices in six months in the UK. The Pixel 4 has battery life that makes it a nonsense phone. The Pixel 4XL gets 4-5h SOT (with all stuff working) if you are lucky, is pretty embarrassing and like 6gb RAM and 128gb max storage they are low specs. No wide-angle camera, no 4K front, no 4K 60FPS rear are all silly omissions. I get you are a Pixel fan but the truth is out there!

They lack all the Pixel-Only features ( Call-Screening, Duplex, MotionSense, Squeeze Assistant, Live transciption, Live recorder, Built-IN!! 2nd Gen Google Assistant...) or a Camera of this caliber with the Dual exposure, Best Portrait mode, Astrophotography. Stop lying to yourselves your omitting ALOT. Im not saying its the best it obviously is cutting corners. Google has made it a routine of cutting corners at launch, but even at Flagship price range there is alot to lose when switching to other android. the integration just isnt the same thats why its compared more to apple than Samsung.

I cannot believe the people running the Pixel project can make such dumb almost stupid basic errors re battery size and cameras. Love, love the feeling in the hand and all of the "smart" features that Google includes in their latest software combined with their hardware. I am moving away from my Note 10+ -having that much screen on a curved bezel device causes too many mistaken touches for me! My only caveat with Amazon-renewed Pixels is that they're almost invariably unlocked Verizon models. So they're harder (but not impossible) to Root if/when you want to stroll down that lane.

This video confuses me so much. 85% to 90% of the video is all about how amazing the Pixel 4 is. I think there should even be a count of how many times the word amazing is used. Until it's not. How is this phone ruined again? The video absolutely conveyed otherwise. I still think the verge review is the most spot on one. I'm here with you, man. Had the nexus 6p back then, now I'm using my 3xl. I don't change my phone evry year or else I would've gotten the 4xl as well. These mainstream reviewers love bashing on pixels and the mainstream crowd just doesn't get it cuz they either look at brand value (apple) or spec sheets (oneplus, Samsung). I can't live without all the nifty software and even hardware features that Google provides , makes it feel like the smartest smartphone put there. Check out "In depth reviews" review on the pixel 4xl, that guy gets it, he's not a mainstream reviewer. If you want more, I think "Linus Tech Tips" and also "the verge" did a pretty good and mostly unbiased review of this on their channels.

This phone is pretty much perfect for me. My only issues we're battery life which seems to have been fixed after an update, and photo subscription. I think reviewers are getting a little caught up in specs. Wide angle doesn't seem very good to me, it only seems to have use scenarios for larger objects. I guess the telephoto could been improved.

@@kyleenright3757 Honestly the software experience on this is far better than I had on my S10+. It's way quicker and the S10 was no slouch, the gestures are more natural and I didn't realize how bad the Samsung gestures we're until I had this phone. Honestly the battery is overstated, compared to the S10+ I'd say it's been better, but that's all I have to compare it to. No, it's not the iPhone battery which is King at the moment but on xeetechcares battery test the Pixel XL died only 8 min before the Note 10+ but everyone is freaking out but no mention of the Note 10+ battery, Google nailed optimization on this phone. I think ppl are just looking at the mAh number and assuming it's horrible but it's been better than what ppl have said. It's not the best but coming from the S10+ it's comparable. The smarter features is what really makes this a grander experience, the faster assistant is nice but the screen calling, the fact the phone displays awareness of when I reach for my phone is incredible. To me hardware wise it's not bleeding edge but no one is touching the pixel on Android anyway software wise. If you're not heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem I'd say this is the way to go, thought I would miss the S10+ but it's an afterthought, just sold it actually a few days ago. It's not perfect, brightness for example is a big one for me but after while you get used to it. Go for it, if you don't like it return it... But it's been a great decision... Plus being able to get updates and features first and quicker is a gigantic advantage for Google over Samsung. Its #TeamPixel for me now

I really enjoy my Pixel 4XL. I do agree that the battery should have been atleast 4,000MaH and i wish they kept the dual front faces speaking. but they still sound good. I personally love the rear finger print scanner and was surprised they didnt't go with the under screen fingerprint reader. but other than the base storage and battery being a little low. I still love this phone and love the stock android experience. My mom and Sister have the Pixel 3A and loves those too.

The Google experience and while image quality is top notch, it isn't enough with these phones. I find the design alright. It isn't the flashiest or ugliest. What I think is missing more is the specs. While specs isn't everything is is certainly something for a 2019 phone and flagship prices. Poor battery, measly storage options and camera options tat are lagging behind other flagship phones is a deal breaker. It is almost like they don't want to sell more phones.

I think so many people miss this or it just goes over their heads. Google can be about the software but they could also give us the best specs, which is what the Pixel line was meant to be about. I've always bought the nexus and pixel phones, because I prefer and need to use stock android. But no matter how good software is, it can be only as good as the limitation of its hardware. At some point you hit a ceiling and need the better hardware. Imagine a pixel 4 with a 3400mah battery, ultrawide lens, 40K 60fps recording and better storage options such as 128gb - 256gb. It would be THE android phone to get. It's as if they purposely leave stuff out so as to not piss off, Samsung and the other phone manufacturers.

@@TheBridgetTube 💯 The first Pixel had a knock off iPhone 7 design. And subsequent designs have had Apples design language all over it, although done badly. Some might disagree but it's clear Google are trying to appeal to iPhone users. It's just annoying because all their direct competitors have these specs, the one's I detailed above are the same ones in the S10. The Pixel 4's battery was so bad I had to buy the larger XL which even though I got big hands is uncomfortable to use, so basically screwed of you prefer a smaller form factor.

I have a pixel 4. It's an awesome phone. And the battery life isn't terrible. It lasts me easily all day. Are you watching videos and taking pictures simultaneously? Then the battery is plenty. Think like the consumer.

Honestly, I was interested in the pixel 4 before launch but when they chose a 2x telephoto instead of a wide-angle that I've loved since the LG G5 and, the relatively small battery it disappointed me. Imho, the iphone 11 pro max is the best phone out right now and I'm not an iphone guy but the cameras and battery life are great. I'll still stick to my LG G7 for now till I see something that truly compels me to upgrade though.

I still use a 32GB phone and I guess if I upgrade 64GB would be enough. I don't know why someone needs more storage. I have unlimited Spotify streaming and 20GB data download with my data plan. All my photos are online on Google Photos. I don't really play games on my phone and I don't want apps that I am not actually using. Just keeping it clean. Why would you want all your photos and music stored on the phone? I love how my phone is just the "window" to my data, photos, music. I don't loose anything if it breaks.

The thing is they charging you a good amount of money whilst cutting out a tone of hardware, since 2018 we've seen phones with 512gb of storage, 10-12gb of memory while still having the SD card expendability. Having free cloud storage for Pixel devices since 2016. Now they are reverse upgrading their products, which is silly. For Android users out there, get and iPhone 11 or a flagship killer Android and download and install the Gcam and have basically the same features that Google has in their Pixels.

I know it really isn't a good solution, more of a kluge. But you can plug a thumb-drive into the USB-C connector. The USB-A to USB-C adapter that comes with each phone allows this (or use a USB-A to USB-C cable). Your can on/off-load data when Wi-Fi isn't available and you don't want to completely blow away one's cellular data allocation. You can also play media directly off of the thumb drive. But you can't charge at the same time. I don't know if a USB hub will allow this, but even if it does that is YAD (Yet Another Dongle). So, yeah. Definitely klugeville... Also... "focus on the camera" Ha! I see what you did there. Even if it was accidental, the pun is fully appreciated. ;-)

the only dissapointments are battery size, wide-angle lens and Storage size. Its a phone of compromises for a high price. They should put it for 300 less on the market. By the why don't compare Pixel4 with iPhone 11Pro (only Iphone 11) the price difference is tremendous between this phones 1. Peak brightness from 610 nits (instead of 440nits) are available but turned off by Google because of battery life. 2. 4k60fps are available but turned off by Google because of storage size 3. wide angle would be great but don't know why Google doesn't put it into there phone. Zoom where also available with super res zoom 4. Storage size wouldnt be the case if they would put Google Photos original upload into the package. Don' know why they skipped this. the other things SD855 instead of SD855+ the difference is nothing anyone would care about. UFS2.1 instead of 3.0 is just another non excaptable point.

Pixel phones usually have 6 hours of battery life. Battery monitoring apps can drain up to an hour's worth of your battery. Sadly, critics use these apps and don't realize what's happening, therefore misleading the viewer.

Fingerprint is way better than face unlock. You can pretty much forget about being able to use face unlock in bright sunlight. Face unlock works by using an infrared camera and since the sun is basically a big ball of infrared light which basically blinds the infrared camera. Even if you manage to get out of direct sunlight you have to make sure you aren't wearing sunglasses and in some cases even hats and hoods. The Pixel 4 might have terrible battery life but the worst one he's ever tested? I guess he never tested the Galaxy S2. The battery life on that phone was terrible. The Nexus 5 and Nexus 5X were pretty bad too.

Hundred percent agree. Lasted 14 days with the smaller 4 before I returned to Google. Pixel 4 is such a down step from the pixel 3. The battery lasts on the smaller version until 1pm with a full charge, that's just unacceptable!!
