The bezels don't bug me (I don't like super high screen to body ratio phones at all) and the lack of an ultrawide lens is kind of disappointing, but holy crap... the battery on the smaller model is just awful. Google is willing to do everything imaginable to give their phones good battery life except for increasing battery capacity by 10%.

Telephoto is definitely not more important. You can always zoom digitally, or walk closer. But you CAN'T make the view wider in any other way. It's the number 1 feature I miss from my curren't phone's camera. I always have to back away until I can't and just have to place the phone against a wall and it's still not good enough. Wide angle is a MUST over telephoto.

6:05 the white smudge shifts as it detects your hand, you can see on some of your attempts it does detect som motion but not all. Other attemps, none at all. I think the key factor with the radar sensor is frequency and field. I can see that if you move your hand too fast you might not get enough of a detection, think moving an object at greater than 1/60 of a second across a field of a camera that is filming at 60 FPS

@@grom5756 Yes, but this was bad. No ultrawide, removing jack (I personally don't care) and lack of fingerprint (that's a poor decision). Basically they made a 2018 phone at the end of 2019. People will still buy for loving the brand and what not but there are way better devices out there even at lower price tags. In 2020 adding an ultrawide will be a late move... Again. By then, major brands will probably move into double screen devices, implement under screen selfie camera or something even crazier we don't expect. Google is late to the party regarding hardware. And software is already decent elsewhere. So Pixel is loosing any advantage they could have had. Microsoft made a crazy move with the surface duo and they choose to release it in 2020 right at the beginning of the decade. The industry is shifting, the smartphone will slowly evolve into something else (smartphone/tablet/laptop hybrid) for productivity. The aim would be to have one single device which could take care of 90% of all your needs (unless you're a professional needing specific hardware for editing, rendering or data analysis). Google is launching services such as Stadia which is a great move. But regarding smartphones... They're getting really late to the party. They need to catch up. OnePlus 7T (pro) was the first phone to ship with Android 10... A software from Google. That's to show how lagging Google is at the moment.
