Do you download a lot of music and videos for offline use? Do you prefer to keep files on the device alone? I think a bump to 128GB base is mandatory given the landscape, but what I would rather they bring back is the unlimited FULL RESOLUTION backup of any photos and videos shot with the Pixel device. The last device to do this was the Pixel 3/3XL, and they NEED to bring that back. No reason why they took it away-- We know that every year Pixel sells less and less, so if they wanna complain about storage used up... how much if the phones ain't really moving? Lol.

Such a shame that Pixel devices are not sold legally in my country... But hey, i've been using the Mi 9T with Pixel Experience rom and gcam for some time now. I must say it's pretty close to the real thing

I'm in the same boat. I was seeing how I could buy a oneplus 8 pro but now this has got me thinking whether to buy the Pixel 4 XL
@jhuny4 жыл бұрын
@@nooweiiipo i eventually went with OP8 Pro but this video was helpful in pointing out the reaaons why you would get a Pixel 4 XL (and these are all great reasons) but making me realise that I actually want the phone with the tech specs. A shadow decision, yes, as it will be eventually bested by the next gen, but it's definitely a step up from my galaxy s8. Also, battery life is a concern and, while I've heard that Google uses software to optimise battery life, I'm not sure that would apply to the way I use phones. So all good here with my decision. I would have loved having a flat screen, though...

I switched to an iPhone 11 Pro Max for a few weeks but in the end I returned the iPhone and stuck with my Pixel 4 XL. There are just so many small things that I really missed, things like call screen, always-on display, great night sight camera, and Google's software. I missed the really good battery life, iMessage, and better software support from app developers from the iPhone but I'm really glad that I switched back. And I missed the flexibility of Android, especially the customization and the ability to set default apps. I just wish Google will add an ultrawide camera and a larger battery in the next Pixel device.

So I loved my pixel 2 and 3. Then the 4 battery life really got to me so I sold it. I then switched over to a galaxy s10e which was great, then onto a galaxy S20 which was not as great. The finger print unlock was hit or miss and face unlock just as bad. I'm moving back over to the pixel 4XL, no regrets. Functionality over everything else I say.

Yeah I traded my iPhone 11 for my clearly white pixel 4XL. The iPhone was good, but I went from pixel 3xl to iPhone 11. I love the quality of apples app store. I got my pixel 4 XL and I plan to keep it 2 years. Will be the first phone I ever kept that long. It's such a beautiful device and like everyone says software is smooth. I'll get updates quick. What's not to like with pixel phones? To me nothing. All big KZbin people say it's not great but I believe they wrong. It does everything I need and more.

I couldn't put it into words why I kept sticking with the 4xl, I kept having doubts about the battery life. I went back to my iPhone x and it's was pretty much the same battery life. I was going to just stick with the iPhone, but I kept finding excuses to go back to the pixel and I finally did and I love my time with it. Battery life isn't the best, but it gets me through the day fine, the software experience is so good, I don't miss iOS and haven't thought about jumping ship to Samsung, Samsung experience just doesn't cut it for me. The pixel, just like the iPhone is perfectly balanced in software features, smoothness, reliable but with some customization that doesn't over do it like Samsung and isn't as restrictive as iOS. I kinda see it like having an iPhone running Android, which is a perfect combination. The software feels like iOS and not the bloated crap Samsung has, it's just perfect, its so perfect I haven't even found a reason to change the launcher.

Very good review. I use the S10+ & the 4xl. I've had the S10+ for over a year & one month the 4xl. The user experience with the pixel is one of it's best features. So, which one is better, both? To me it's the best of both worlds. Pure android & one UI, both work very well. Very happy with both!

Hi Sam, Like your videos. Fully appreciate you shooting your videos in 20:9 aspect ratio. I can expand to full screen on my Samsung Galaxy A71 without losing the top & bottom part of the video. Having to watch general youtube videos in 16:9 aspect ratio just so I don't lose any picture defeats the purpose of having a phone with a 20:9 aspect ratio where I should be able to watch videos in full view. Wish other youtubers would do the same.

Over the past 3 years I've stuck exclusively with phones from 2019. I bought a Pixel 3a for $400 at launch and over the years squeezed every last bit of use I could out of it through any and all issues: screen replacement, the 64gb storage filling up to the point of corrupting my data and forcing a factory reset, screen broken another time resulting in me needing to not only replace it but get the motherboard professionally microsoldered to fix the connection, full swap of outer shell/color and nearly every component besides the motherboard, and the screen breaking once again recently. Luckily I happened to have just gotten a brand new OnePlus 7t Mclaren Edition for $500 at that time, which on paper would be superior to my busted Pixel 3a in nearly every way, but after the 3a broke and I was forced to use the 7t as my main phone right away I learned first-hand why specs and hardware truly aren't everything. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't just go back and use the 3a again now after getting used to the bigger form factor, insanely better screen, and way more comfortable ram and storage, but man the software just does not compare. Having to use OxygenOS stuck on Android 11 makes me desperately miss all the features and look/fluidity of the Pixel's version of Android 12, even with 60hz it all still feels so much more seamless in my mind and it was also my favorite version of Android visually. After watching some videos on the Android 13 betas and looking back to all the Pixel 4 had to offer, I'm planning to buy a Pixel 4 XL to use as my main phone again, number one reason being I miss photography on the Pixel so much and all those little features like Now Playing. You can find a used good condition 128gb 4 XL for like $200 on eBay now, half the price of what I paid for that 64gb 3a just a few years ago it's crazy! Anyways this video really captured my feelings on the Pixel 4 and solidified my choice, great watch. Hoping the Pixel 8 returns to something very similar (without the Pixel 4's flaws and gimmicky parts of course)

YES!...YES!....THANK YOU!... *slaps desk* On paper it might seem flawed, but none of the apparent flaws EVER bother me. Flat screen, big bezel full of useful stuff, face unlock that is unrivaled, brilliant screen, brilliant camera, lovely design and vanilla Android all add up to an excellent device. I've had mine since the day it launched in Australia and I've never found any of the supposed showstopping flaws have ever hampered me, and I'm a phone power user. I am on it waaaaay more than is healthy and do gaming, social and a shit ton of work (Teams, Power Bi, Email, all sorts of docs) and am actually speaking on it many hours a day, every day (admittedly more often than not via bluetooth in my car or Bose QC35s). Such a great device and to all the haters, up yours. Yea, you can rattle off a list of apparent problems with it, but in reality none of that stuff matters. What's it's actually like to use is what matters and the Pixel 4/XL is awesome. If they can build the same user experience into the P5/6 even when using mid tier chipsets and the like, sign me up. All this e-peen phone CPU stuff is BS. Most people don't know and don't care what's in the chassis of their phone, so long as it performs how they expect.

I had a Pixel 1 and upgraded to One Plus 7T. After three months I am traded for the Pixel 4. The One Plus camera struggled too much for me and I need a reliable camera that gets the perfect shot everyone regardless of the lightning. The Oxygen OS is a nice operating system but the stock Android is much more efficient for my usage plus I get monthly updates which you don't get from One Plus.
