Exactly. These KZbinrs always complain and hate Pixel 4 xl for no reason at launch. They never dig into the software tech Google is offering. Google has very mature adaptive battery machine learning algorithm. It knows what apps you use at a specific period of the day and will keep the other apps inactive. That means a large battery is not necessary at all.

Been using Android since windows phone died, and the 3a was my first pixel and now a 4xl. I don't think I will ever use any other android phone. I had a better user experience on the 3a than on the Samsung Galaxy s10 I switched from The pixel just does the most useful things best. While Tech reviewers love running through a spec sheet, drooling over new gimmicks, most consumers care about the everyday experience, and the pixel does it best on Android. It has the consistency and stability of iPhones. Design is subjective, and I personally find the pixel 4 in white to be one of the most beautiful phones at the moment. Every iPhone user around me is always amazed by the design of my pixel 4xl.

Even a lot of the software , some of its ooh wow features have been on other devices for some time . Your opinion and experience, so good for you. But Google's performance isn't reliable, my OnePlus has shown a smoother and consistent performance over my Pixel over and over again. Simply put, if you (Google) made Android but can't perfect it for your own phone then why should we care? Google's phone should be the best of Android, but it isn't. There are still features that can be found on other branded phones (iOS and Android) that Google is yet to implement. And then they slap you with a nasty price tag that just gives you the fuel you need to run off to another brand.

I've had my Pixel 4 XL for about 6 months now and to be honest I was enjoying it okay but I came really close to buying the Pixel 5. In fact I ordered it and then a couple of days later canceled my order. What made me want to buy the Pixel 5? the battery on the Pixel 4 XL is terrible. But the latest updates in Android 11 have improved the battery life by about 20 to 25%, in my estimation. And the notifications that Jaime spoke about, are amazing. My ability to be able to check my notifications without opening up everything is pure joy. I love functional, practical, efficient design, and that describes Android 11. I have come to love my phone, glad I didn't order the Pixel 5. And because I work from home, and practicing semi-good social distancing, who needs 5G? The last time I felt so good about a phone was my Pixel 2 XL, the only phone I kept for 2 years, since I always have to get the latest phone every year. I rationalize that is less expensive than a new car every year. And to make things even better I bought my Pixel 4 XL on sale $350 off the regular price. So this has been the type of relationship that started out with high expectations, then disappointment, then with some effort, I think I'm in for a long-term relationship. That's a good thing.

The fact that Google's Android only delivers 60% of the advertised features to users outside the US is starting to make the consistent experience on IOS more appealing in 2020. Also from history, Google's had a consistent track record of having bugs on every pixel phone on official release. The only thing comparing Google to other OEMs now is simple: Ego vs Passion. They've lost it and like you mentioned, is sadly becoming another HTC.

I enjoy mine. It's white too. Went out in the rain and the usb port was shorted. Had to spray electrical cleaner in it. Spray fixed the usb but the motion sensor is dead. I'm getting a replacement. The motion sensor turns the screen on when I reach for it. That's the only part I use. You can activate continuous 90 htz refresh in developer mode. I also use Nova launcher to make it do what I want.

I think the main feature for the gestures aren't the gestures, hear me out. Basically the best technology is the tech that is very well integrated with our lives, when we use tech we shouldn't feel the existence of it, and if it can do that all while helping us do things and also achieve different things, that's some good tech for you. Motion sense can also sense your presence and you reaching out to the phone, and you don't need to do anything extra, you just reach your phone like normal, and the screen turns on and face unlock sensors warm up and that's some really good ideas imo

In my opinion, best looking phone of all time, forehead or not. I actually like the forhead. It has character. It doesn’t look like every other phone out there, especially the orange color, super slick. I can not wait to get the P4xl. I’m rocking the Oneplus 8 and I’m going to get the Pixel for my secondary Line. The Oneplus camera doesn’t do it for me so that’s where the 4xl will step in, the battery should be fine since I’ll only be using it for Pictures Taking and Transferring! $200 is a total steal for this phone. I actually use gestures all the time. They are absolutely necessary if you are using your phone as a GPS and music box during drive. It's pretty cool that most of the times I don't have to touch the phone at all to do pretty complex stuff(combining radar,face recognition and the assistant). The only issues I have with the radar is that the number of apps supporting it is close to two for now (almost an year later).

The asymmetrical bezels never bothered me. I coming from a pixel 1 to the 4, the only thing that bothered me is that the screen colours are noticeably less saturated. Even on the adaptive option. I wish Google add a super saturated mode.

Free unlimited photos still exist, just select the free unlimited option for backup instead of original quality. The limit for the free unlimited option is 16mp and anything more and the photo gets downgraded. However seeing as the Pixel 4's camera is only 16mp itself it isn't an issue

I am also loving my Pixel 4 XL and used it since launch. I thought I would miss the fingerprint scanner, but I really don’t. I was a HTC fan and got excited when Google acquired their engineers, so the new Pixel designed by the former HTC engineers is the cellphone I can’t wait to use. Another product I am anxious for is the Google watch, especially since Google bought FitBit and I use my trackers daily. I am holding out for those two products Google, you can make 2020 better for a lot of Android enthusiasts.

I have two phone lines and keep a Pixel device for one of them just to have access to the latest version of stock Android. And something about a Pixel is appealing to me. With my other line I go to the other extreme and use a Galaxy Note :) So, I have the simplicity of stock Android on my Pixel, and the extreme customisation and feature rich software with amazing hardware to match on my Note. I like the P4XL, although soli is a flop. The one thing I do like about soli is the AOD turning on and/or brightening up when you are near the device. It is quite useful in certain situations. It's nice to just reach out towards the device to get it to light up and see what time it is and what notfications you have. And inb4 people who think all phones do this; they haven't seen how the P4 does it. You can be feet away from the device and simply move your hand towards it and it immediately turns on. It's way more sensitive than a proximity sensor. The gestures for changing songs and pause/play are atrocious in my experience.

Google pixel 4 design, may i say is distinct yet very likeable.. the almost industrial design is really likeable. Great cameras - as i said they are trying to improve the most used features better, rather than giving us 108 mp and 100x zoom - realistically those are almost trash and we hardly use it.. its about giving us the best features that almost everyone uses.. i really do hope they can give us a wide angle with pixel 5 and just something that is just well made

@@pomo6015 so far it's great and I would say probably about 2 more years before it becomes irrelevant, the one complaint I have is the battery life, I bought mine used and as a result of that the battery came degraded, but I am also a power user who loves the premium experience or whatever so I always have the display at full brightness, 1440p resolution, and the forced 90Hz refresh rate, so if you are planning on buying one, I recommend the 4 XL instead of the 4 due to bigger battery, also if the battery is too much of an issue a great alternative, and a decent upgrade to this would be the OnePlus 8, not the pro unless you can afford that, but, I would rather have the 8 instead of the 4 XL, however I don't have the 8 cause at the time I purchased the 4XL it was much cheaper than the OnePlus 8

The only reason I miss my pixel phone isn't for what it could do (pixel 2 XL) but the fact that you get everything software wise from Google first. I use voice to text alot and when I got my Galaxy 10 plus I quickly downloaded Gboard, but then learned I didn't have the (faster voice typing) feature from the pixel line so the voice to text was terrible until lately. Also Google phone app was my favorite phone app with being able to read voice mails have that spam call filter. So miss my pixel 2 XL running Microsoft launcher 😔

With Android 11, you have to swipe twice (once down then left), for wifi and data setting. Previous android, it was all on one swipe down. Previous version kept most used apps (example: YT) under main circle button, now, I have to swipe up for all apps, then select YT. There might be improvements, but looks like they kill other functions, just to make you "wait" for yet another update 🤦

I dont understand why people have a problem with the top bezel, i mean other brands made phones with similar bezels, just on the bottom. Just hold the phone upside down if its that much of a problem

I have the pixel 4xl, I use the soli radar chip every day to skip songs while driving or running in the year mill. I hope the next pixels have the soli radar chip again. The bar at the top isn't noticable after a while. I love this phone

I have used this Google Pixel 4XL for about a few months. Everything go very well and super smooth compare to other android phones. Stock android runs very well and battery life is acceptable. Camera is phenomenal with price tag 650$ for 128GB local market Cambodia. Most youtubers complained this phone; anyway, it's ok for me so far.

I feel like this is Google's team struggling with managing the costs on this phone, because I think the cost of the phone is not only for the hardware but also software. Other companies probably don't spend as much as Google spends. They are trying to keep both flagship level specs and charging for the software. That's where I think they are not able to cut meaningful corners and end up making wierd sacrifices. But again that's what I think the problem is...

Had iPhone X, and Note 10. Sold them both and kept my Pixel 4 XL.. "It just works" fits perfectly. But everything just seem to be more ENJOYABLE, smoother, crispier and more refined now. Nothing feels overdone. It feels as if it's right smack in the middle of Android and iOS. It's not overdone, or underwhelming.. But that show I feel.

How much did the software update improve the measly battery's performance in terms of SOT? I doubt it if it's that significant. Unless Google somehow reached iOS-level optimization, software updates will not fix the horrible battery life.

I still use a Pixel 2 XL. And the only reason I keep using a Nexus/Pixel device is the software updates. But I feel that if they really go the route of a mid range phone with the Pixel 5, they will go in the wrong direction. Give me a flagship phone with a 8 or 10GB of ram, the latest Snapdragon processor and also a wide range camera and I'm in. For me the new Sony Xperia 1 Mark 2 is suddenly a really interesting phone.
