Overall good video. COUPLE THINGS TO NOTE: 1. Does not mention removing the blue protective film on back of a new screen. There are several pieces that need to come off, they will interfere with heat dissipation. Be careful as it is easy to damage the copper they are stuck to. 2. REMOVE THE DUST COVER FOR THE CAMERA.. it is not shown as a step in the video, but you will be super bummed if you don't! Also, it seems you need to do some software updating to get the new fingerprint sensor working. I am still figuring that part out, but there are quite a few forum posts out there regarding this part.

I bought your kit and worked almost perfectly. It was like the adhesive was a few mm too thin, so on both sides it did not go to the edges but rather 2 mm inside in both sides all the way up. It’s impossible to correct once you lay it down as trying to loosen the adhesive just stretches it and makes it bulge. So be extra careful or cut the plastic in two to be able to stretch it to the edges in both sides when applying, I hope it still seals the phone and keeps the display in place. Great video, and a normal suction cup is enough, you don’t need the fancy clamp.

Can you tell me where you got it? Is it just the screen or the digitizer as well?
@rediculousman5 ай бұрын
I'm just about to do it. What I have found with previous phones is that the chassis gets dented, the screen won't sit properly on the adhesive. Also because the screen is slight twisted it will crack easier. Instead, I found it best to use silicone. That fills any gaps and allows the screen to sit in a nice flat plane. Also because there is no metal on metal it strengthens the screen from shocks. Plus it's hydrophobic... My chassis isn't dented this time, so I'll give the adhesive a go, but if it won't take properly, I'll go back to old faithful.

Prying instructions with picks from bottom towards top on the right side will lead to breaking screen to frame grounding pins, but going from top down on the right side would save the pins. I just wish the video mentioned that its harder than it looks before I broke one of the pins and wished it noted the orientation of the grounding pins better to avoid bending them backwards. Also my screen came unglued from the bezel when applying heat and lifting with suction cups and picks.. I didnt know what was going on at the time as the difference is subtle between reality and the video but the effect is huge. Overall happy with my ifix it order, it arrived across the country way faster than expected on 3rd day. I still wish the video was more comprehensive and now I had to reorder a screen adhesive to attach to frame and not the plastic bezel that I thought was the frame earlier. Oops. One last thing. The screen is nearly as pricey as just buying an used pixel. So take that as you will. I wanted to save my unbacked up data so i went this route for convenience but it would be easier to just buy another phone next time if backed up prior.
