My partner ran over his 7 pro with a truck - screen cracked but it still worked for 2 months (it was in a case). The day he got the replacement phone the 7 pro screen stopped working entirely - the touch sensors worked but we could see nothing, which meant we couldn't copy any of the data off. Thanks to this video we knew about the accessibility features. We were able to turn on TalkBack and use the screen reader to go through the "set up my device" wizard. If we hadn't known about TalkBack the data would have been lost! Thank you!

@@MoiraPrime nah pro phones are the new flagships. He does Flagships. Gaming phones. Budget phones. Eco phones. There is no real benefit to him covering the mids because that market is the worst market in phones. Previously before Pro models became a thing. The top model wouod be called the S6 or the iPhone 4 ect. Then with the pro stuff you get a seriously de-spec's version of the phone. With the numbered phones. And the flagship is now the Pro or + model. So yeah he hasnt changed his content at all and still mostly covers flagships. But unless a mid is doing something groundbreaking(which is rare) there is no real reason to cover if its repairable or not. Most mids are burned out after warranty and would be cheaper to buy another new phone than repair. Like he does mids all thr time. He just cant do it every phone release.

I'm extremely happy with my pixel 7. I didn't really see a reason to drop the extra $300 for the pro model. The sub-par battery life that everyone complains about can be completely nullified by disabling 5g and using LTE. It will give you better connectivity and 10 to 12 hours of SoT, if not more and you will actually get higher data speed in most cases. And probably the best part is the camera bar on the snow model reminds me of my Limited edition white Nexus 6p.
@blazeclarke2 жыл бұрын
The data speed varies with area and network. Through most.major cities in the UK the 5g speeds are 300mbps+, 4g is anywhere from 10-50mbps ish. Everyone advertises more but real world, that's about what you get. Regardless 5g is much faster so a lot of people do benefit from using it. Whether that, plus a zoom lens is worth the extra cash, that's up to whoever's buying. On the 6 range you could turn off adaptive battery and another battery related AI, and it would increase the battery life by a good 30% or so, I haven't had to do this on my 7 pro but it might be worth a try to see if it'll benefit the current gen of pixel phones also? If battery is a concern

Same...I actually got my 6 Pro almost 6 months after release (which in this case is great cause all the bugs have been pretty much fixed)...was debating on waiting for the 7 series but when I saw the sideways "i" design of the camera bar I was like there's no way this would look better than the 6 series haha

Really looking forward to see your iphone 14 pro and apple watch ultra durability tests. Especially the apple watch ultra since it seems like it's pretty durable. Nice video as always!

There's not really a reason to do the iP14P as the Pro and Non Pro models basically use the same materials (with exception to textured glass vs transparent)
@hietrn2 жыл бұрын
@@AustinRoss true, but he did that every year so i feel the need to ask about the 14P as well lol, but it's nice to see one since the 14 changed the layout of the device this year so it'd be nice to know if the 14P series will follow along. But still, my main interest is still on the apple watch ultra.

Everytime Mr jerry say scratches at level 6 and deeper groves at level 7. My head repeats its along. 7 years and going

Nice review. I think the Pixel 2 XL was better. Front facing speakers, my coating never scratched but a couple of chips from whennI drop it ober the years. I never use a case but it held up well. Problems with it is it needs a new battery, WiFi can sometime drop out a range but this was common after an uptade years ago, volume button broke and fell out, waiting on a replacement, and worst of all they stopped with software updates. Pity because I still think it's the best Pixel they made, the 7 Pro is close but seems slightly more scratch prone, bend test not so good, too much glass to break, not front firing speakers and a huge camera bump, just make the phone thicker. They just don't make phones like they used to.

The volume button on my regular Pixel 2 also fell out. This is one of the annoying aspects of Google phones, they always have subpar build quality.

I recently upgraded from Pixel 2XL to Pixel 7 Pro. The worst part of Pixel 2XL was the charging port. I got it replaced. But Pixel 7 Pro's photo quality is so much better than Pixel 2XL
@Commander_ZiN2 жыл бұрын
@@kjan Yeah, the 7's camera is the best part but Pixel 2XL camera is good enough for me. I really don't like camera bumps, just make the phone thicker, give it a bigger battery. What was wrong with your charging port? Mines still working good a new still.
@kjan2 жыл бұрын
@@Commander_ZiN I couldn't charge my Pixel2XL. That's why I had to replace the charging port.

@@kjan Was the plug going all the way in and clipping in snuggly? I thought I needed to replace mine once but it was just debri from my pocket that I couldn't see. I cleaned it out with a cut up business card. Took years for it to stop working and me to actually do something about it, I couldn't see anything with a torch but is wasn't working so I had to try something. I really am a fan of USB C now, although before I cleaned it I thought it was rather lame :P How was it after it was replaced? Did you manage to get an original one? I'm thinking I'll have to get the Pixel 7 Pro, even though it isn't as strong on the bend test. It's either that or replace battery on mine but I still wouldn't get security updates. There is the ASUS phones too, but that telephoto looks fun. I wish batteries were replacible, I don't think new phones every 2 years is good for the environment just because the battery is worn.
