You can't really go wrong with any of the pixel 9 phones. I have a pixel 9 pro XL and this happens to be my first google phone. The experience has been awesome to say the least. Price wise, I would say it's worth it considering what the competition is charging for their flagships and this is a better put together phone.

How much was the Samsung S24 ultra @ launch? Besides the Snapdragon processor which Google doesn't give a damn about, which other area is the Samsung better than the pixel 9? Tensor G4 is an in-house processor for the Google line up and does the job well as long as AI and everyday normal phone use is concerned. If you're looking to game, then pick another phone. As far as taking into consideration what the competition are offering for their flagships, then that price point is fair. iPhone was the first to stick more than a 1k quid to their phones and nobody complained.

On top of that 300 of the phone for preorder. I paired 500 for a phone that hasn't even fully released.... Not to mention all the crazy deals Best Buy and every major Phone company has them on. Black Friday sales, Christmas sales, New years sale no one has ever paid full price for a pixel. They are literally always on sale. They're priced correctly

Thank you KJ for reviewing the Pixel 9. Everyone is obsessed with either the 9 Pro or the 9 Pro XL. I am so happy so far with my Winter green Google Pixel 9. I have had decent battery, I love the snappiness of the device, and of course I love the more compact size. I think it's a shame we don't get Gemini live like the Pro and Pro XL but I guess as it's only for a year anyway I am not missing much. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the more boxy design but am now used to it and don't mind it so much. I am not a fan of the charging speeds, which for reasons known only to Google, haven't been improved much over last year. Still I love this phone and I think many people who pick up one of these will enjoy it as well.

I owned Pixel 1 and currently rocking Pixel 4a. These phones are in no way the flagship but they offered smooth android experience which was unheard of in the android devices, supported unlimited photo storage in original or saver quality, they offered quick updates and greatest computational photography, all this was in low to mid range price. But now, it seems Pixel is moving away from the things that matters most to people and selling devices with less improvements and benefits and more endorsement from youtubers. I would've moved to Pixel 9 Pro XL only if they were starting from $700. I don't think they're worth any more than that.

there is a lot of discounting going on with the carriers. I don't think the listed price is the internal expected price. I think the idea is give people discounts against a higher listed price to make it all seem so good. I just traded in an iphone 11 with a broken screen and got a 1000 in applied credits through ATT because the promotion is the phone has to be worth at least 35 dollars. Yeah, makes things so much more affordable.

Great video! It's nice to see the regular 9 get some attention. In my opinion it's the best model to get because it's most of the same experience as the Pro models for less. For those complaining about the raw power of the G4, in real world usage, Pixels are just smooth and work well. The 9 series looks like the best phones Google has made yet.

Mine arrived a few days ago and to me it still feels massive (coming from ok a pixel 4a) It feels chunky, heavy and has the biggest camera bump ive ever seen Strap a case on it and its massive Such a shame as it feels really well built and runs well That said i was expecting to ser more improvements over my entry level 4a So far Gemini has been very unreliable, it even gets basic questions wrong about pixel devices (it told me the pixel 9 has not been released). It will probably improve but it's nowhere near ready for mainstream release IMO

how can we even begin to defend a pixel or a tensor ? it barely matches the performance of a 3 year old flagship let alone being able to run anything in the proposed 7 years life cycle, pixel platform is now used to showcase what google has to offer and not what the new android (15) has to offer. a pixel not launching with the latest android is just bizarre. and on top of that the tensor still exhibits heating issues in countries with a hot climate. Good smartphone, but too expensive ($200 too expensive) for what it is, and as you said, Google by increasing the prices of its Pixel 9s has lost the tiny advantage it had over the Galaxy and iPhone. On the other hand, isn't it a bit of an overstatement to say that it's a small smartphone 🤔, the thing is almost the same size as the S22 Plus / S23 Plus which to my knowledge have never been and are not considered small smartphones 🤷🏽‍♂️ Ps: if you've had it for 2-3 weeks, adaptive battery 🔋 has already normally finished its calibration, and that's the best you'll be able to get in terms of battery 🔋 life 🤷🏽‍♂️, and also, at $800, it's clearly not a budget smartphone. 🙏🏽

If Google hadn't jumped the price up as if it could actually compete with a real flagship phone, I wouldn't have hesitated. I held out for the P9XL, and when I found out the price, I went on P9 launch day and bought an SGS24U - something actually worth that price range and better in almost every single area, and I haven't looked back even once. This is my first Samsung phone (came from a Pixel 6 Pro) and omg, this thing is freaking amazing. Despite the P6 Pro having an awesome camera and convenient Google features/lightweight OS, I consider my P6P one of the worst, most underperforming phones I've ever had, and Google further ruined my experience with constant botched software updates; the phone eventually became virtually unusable. I can't even imagine the price of the P10 if they actually ditch the garbage Tensor chip.. They'll be charging a hell of a lot more and it still won't be on par with the competition. And I'll add one more thing, everyone talking about how performance is fine, just wait until you've filled-up half your storage, the battery has begun to naturally wear out and the OS/apps just continue to get heavier. It feels "okay" because it's a brand-new phone.

pixel 9 is fail if you get from same company better hardware. google+samsung partners samsung give 1 year ago in the same case 2x better hardware that in smaller and lighter. pixel 9 weak hardware from cheap phones in a much bigger case...then S24 pointless what google make with this pixel brand if they have outstanding hardware in the same case for 300$ lower...... and if google anounced that the pixel 9 have suspect stability=lagging problems on android 15 so it will be delayd for 2 months... no future for this hardware.

I had the Pixel 8 Pro, traded in for the regular Pixel 9. The phone is awesome. I am loving it. Great camera. Light, fast. Excellent. I also have the iPhone 15 Pro. In day to day use, the pixel is just as fast as my iPhone. ( I don't game on my phone much; I play clash of clans and that's about it) Very happy. I went regular for the smallest screen size. Flagship killer.

Knowing how fast Pixel prices drop it's foolish to buy a Pixel 9 brand new. Heck, if you trade in an iPhone 15 Pro for a Pixel 9 Pro XL you'll be losing money. iPhone 15 Pro Max will maintain its resell value WAAAY longer than Pixel 9 Pro XL.

500.00 that is all any pixel is worth. They want to spy on you least they can do it give you some of that advertising money back. 1000.00 is iPhone prices. I'd rather use an iPhone or Samsung for 1000.00 pixels are not top tier. They are mid range at best. Never to be sold at 1000.00 unless your dumb.
