Thanks for the shoutout boo! And to anyone reading this: I was never a fan of Pixel because of multiple problems it continued having on a year to year basis (overheating, bad battery, bad modem).. However, the Pixel 9 Pro series is the first time that a Pixel phone has genuinely impressed me WAY beyond my expectations. I recommend it. Didnt overheat on me, the modem seems to be great, battery life is really good, and the UI is crazy smooth! The AI features are helpful and fun to play around with.

What I think is really helping the Pixel 9 too is the fact we are on a polished version of android versus a new version that's not fully baked, I remember how amazing the experience was with the original Pixel XL and everything after just felt rushed and half done.

I agree. Or have the storage cheaper. I know last year it was like $60 to go from 128 to 256GB on the 8/8 Pro, but now it’s $100. I think 256GB definitely would’ve been better considering the 15 Pro Max is the same price if you get the 9 Pro XL in the 256GB version

I really dont know what google did in the latest Android 15 QPR 1 Beta 1. My pixel 8 is running smooth, absolutely no stutter . Can you beleive i got 8 hours of screen on time. From 100 down to 3 percent. Earlier it was 5 to 6 hours of SOT. The heating also has reduced.

i upgraded from a 6 pro. i've been very happily surprised at my 9pro xl's standby battery, but also the the battery and reception in general are now great. i'm thrilled with it! and if you don't like the benchmarks, then get a nintendo for your games and use your p9 for the rest of what matters in life. i enjoy using it more than my s24 ultra.

I'm waiting for my Pixel 9 Pro XL to arrive today. The biggest issue with my Pixel 8 is heat and battery life. Maybe if it was winter time, I wouldn't have much of an issue with heat, but it's hot here in the high 90°F to over 100°F daily and makes me not want to hold on to it just for my "normal" usages like reading articles, watch videos, or making phone calls. Performance wise for my use case on the Pixel 8 were no issues for me, it's just that heat that I can't take. It's even worse on long trips using Android Auto and when I want to use voice control after a couple of hours, it won't work because of the overheating prompt. That's a no go for me. Once I get the Pixel 9 Pro XL, I'll put it through its paces with Android Auto, too.

I noticed on my new pixel 9 pro xl that google added the feature on ai zoom as you mentioned a few videos back. The photos are automatically sharpened when zoomed in and after the shutter pressed. I'm satisfied with Google's AI feature and specs. I like this phone better than my previous iPhone 13 pro max since almost all the apps I used was Google apps plus the fingerprint sensor. My pixel 9 never got hot on my palms to hold on to. Overall, I'm very satisfied I made this decision.

I love the pixel 9 pro XL but the only slight niggle I have is the screen (while using night light) and minimum brightness I find the screen has uneven blotchiness (did you notice this?) on the right side when viewing dark grey colours. Apart from this, as mentioned battery is fantastic. Dare I say even better than the pixel 5 after just a few days of use

I am a super duper power user. I can do 8 hrs of SoT in a day no problem. I am currently sitting at 60% battery with almost 5 hrs of SoT. Mostly social media scrolling, email, and internet. Took my phone off charger at exactly 3pm eastern time, now 11pm. Completely satisfied over my Pixel 8Pro. Standby is better than before. Went to bed with 28% and woke up with still 20%>

Great summary of the 9pro improvements and shortcomings. It's good to see that year on year they are fixing the issues and improving it. Let's hope that this is a good base to build off for the proper custom G5/6 that is coming in P10/11. Bit sad they didn't go with UFS4 and only start at 128gb for the pro's! Should be 256gb as base imo.

For me some of the trouble, on my Pixel 8 Pro for example, is on a weekend I'd struggle to get 3 hours SOT. If I was on it during the weekend or especially out taking photos it was far less than that. During a workday I'd have to charge it before lunch to reliably finish the day (again less than 3 hours SOT during the day). After work, again if there's an event and you'd be taking photos, it would be dead within 3 hours SOT. It's not that I need to be on my phone 8 hours but you feel "comfortable" if a phone is capable of it on the days you need it.

I wanted the regular 9 Pro, had to get a new phone pretty quickly so I have the 9 Pro XL and I'm really happy with it so far. Pleasantly surprised by everything I wasn't sure about. Battery is really good, standby reminds me of my iPhone, everything just works and I keep finding new things to like about it. And this camera is phenomenal. The size is big like my last phone but without the curves it's just easier to handle. So I probably won't be trading it in for the smaller Pixel 9 Pro. If they can allow us to get rid of the "at a glance" widget and let us move the search bar without a launcher then I'll have zero complaints and those are easily remedied with software updates

the first night of having the Pixel 9 Pro XL it did a serious battery drain from 100% to like 75% within a 6hr no usage cause I was sleeping and I was worried so I charged it up in the morning did my daily use got it down to like 10% then recharged before I fell asleep. The next morning the phone was at like 90% then as the days went by it's almost like it was learning how to regulate and now I barely drop to 98%. This is a mark improvement for me and even throwing my major gaming task throughout the day I am still going up to 10-11 pm before charging.

After using the 9 Pro XL for the last several days I'm convinced this is the first android I feel like is a true competitor to iPhone. Just the over all package and how integrated the google apps feel with the OS. This was the easiest phone I've ever set up with it connecting wirelessly to my Zfold5 and porting everything over quickly. I'm so happy to be back in googles OS, their apps never seem to be quite as good when used on my Samsung but back on Pixel its like 👌

I'm amazed by battery life from p9p xl 256go. I'm a pixel user (p5, p6, p7p, p8 before). Got the phone yesterday, everything is enabled even AoD. Phone charged 100% midnight. This morning 96% at wake up, until now 4h of screen and 46%: -coin master 2h25 -camera 9min -whatsapp 7min -Google photos 17min -Bereal 6min etc.. i was outside 2h so data mobile but 4g (didn't received my new sim card yet). It's 32° outside, phone is not even hot. can't wait for adaptative battery have done is job.

The best Pixel phone Google ever produced. In the past I used to have the original Pixel ( 2016 ) and Pixel 6a ( finger print sensor was terrible, had to use Pin to open ).

Good on Google for bucking the trend and sticking with aluminum. I got rid of my S24 Ultra because that thing would get hot and stay hot. Because of that my screen would fade to black after less than 10 minutes of use in sunlight. I got the ZFold6 but I am interested in getting the Pixel 9 Pro XL as a second device.

You need a second phone in the near future as a back up because that folding screen is not going to last long. My wife has Fold 4 and the inner screen started having air bubbles first before it went completely dead. She has been very careful not using the inner screen too much, she knows 5 friends /relative who have problems with the inner folding screen , so it is not that uncommon. Took it to Samsung for repair but decided not to repair it because of the cost , now using the front screen only.

Thx Adam , you just pulled me over to go from my wonderful 7 Pro ( which I still think is a great phone:) to a 9 Pro. Especially the battery (sot and Standby) improvements are wonderful to hear. More camera improvements are always good to hear too. All the AI stuff is nice , but still mostly gimmicks like you said;) I used Google Translate alot in VN, Laos and Japan. Its ok, but AI can make it even better Google, plz focus on that. The Pixel pro will cost $1225 (128gb) in Holland . First month we get a free update from 128 to 256 . Thats nice, still alot of money. I get $450 for my 1,5 year of 7 pro. So I keep it and make my wife (still on P 4A5G ;) very happy. This choosen form factor design is a perfect choice that Google had made, people should stop hating on it. 2:46 Six to eight hours of screen time is good for most people. A 5,000 mAh battery is good enough for most people. I have a 5,000 mAh battery and it is superfluous for my daily needs. If you're a gamer, or you use or lot of intense Ai technology, or even content creation, then you'll run through a 5,000 mAh battery. 8:37 Google is on the right trajectory to making Ai technology a daily essentials for everybody. Some people may take a while to adopt certain Ai features but eventually they'll join the fun. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾

I took my pixel 7 on holiday last week and ‘forgot it was in my car from Sunday morning to Friday morning and it was at 17% so not bad, I got it in the first week they went on sale 2 years ago, The weather was cold where I was last week too. This sounds good. I'm not entirely convinced about AI. What I have seen again and again are pictures where a person is removed etc. We have been able to do that on PC/Mac for at least two decades. What I'm most excited about with AI is if I get something I didn't know I needed until I got it. It is things like this that often impress the most. With storing data online, I'm not too concerned about whether it's 128 GB of storage space or 256 internal. I am still not able to store more than about 60GB on my phones.

this new phone is still great because it's not on the new OS yet. going back to when the pixel six was first coming out and you would always talk about the new OS I would always look for some way to roll back because I would prefer an OS that is not so new and has potential for bugs. largely I have stopped worrying about that but all the praise you're giving this phone which is still on on the previous OS reminds me of that fact.. 🤷🏽

I’ve been enjoying my New Pixel Pro 9 Xl with free upgrade to 512 gb. Pulled the trigger and upgraded my amazing Pixel 6 Pro. T- Mobile gave me $500 for that. So far I’m loving the Pro 9 Xl, it’s a Home Run! 🎉

The iPhone overheating thing is legit, see it here in Australia. A number of times handing over the chump spec Motorola 30 Ultra so they can video dogs run at agility events is lols. The best video phone is the one that actually works I guess 🤦‍♂️🤣 Didn't realise Pixels also had this failure too. Good they've fixed it

I've been getting a couple days of usage not even charging to 100. Been at 80-81 on avg after any charge. I've been watching more KZbin on the pixel tablet when I do watch KZbin on the phone it's always with Google buds a. My s24 ultra didnt last as long at all. It would always heat up with KZbin then die quickly. The moto razr did slightly better with a smaller battery. This thing just wow picked up the 256gb rose quartz pro XL. Verizon is giving up to 800 off for just adding a new line to their service. I believe I'm only paying 199 for the pixel total.

I told myself i would not fall for the pixel hype any longer. the original pixel fold left a bad taste in my mouth. Been loyal to android since the nexus days and have owned like 4 or 5 pixels. I'm happy with my s24ultra and i hope google keeps improving so that when i'm ready to upgrade again, i will give pixel another shot. but right now, it is too soon for me to fall for the trap again.

I gotta question what's the issue with 128gb? Seriously, what is it you guys keep on your phones? With cloud storage becoming what it is and even if you don't want cloud storage you still have SSDs to save your stuff. I just think if you lose your phone, without cloud storage you're SOL. Help me understand.

This sounds like it's the first Pixel that has everyone in agreement that's it's just plain very good. Got mine for 330 euros which is a STEAL. Just have to wait 4 more weeks. Great review especially from you as you're very critical towards Pixel phones

I’ve always stayed away from Puxel phones due to the blandness of them. Though I know they can be powerhouses. Glad to hear they stepped things up. I’m still think about pulling the trigger on a flip phone though. Not sure which one 😂

The main area the pixel is lacking in is it’s tensor G4 especially if you are a gamer say Genshin impact call of duty. It just does not perform well compared to say the Samsung S 24 or an iPhone even 14 or even 13. They all perform faster so I wish they would and I feel if you’re paying a premium price it should have a more powerful chip. I understand Google wanted to do their own in-house chip, but why not just put a snapdragon GEN three in it I don’t know just my thoughts I do plan to get at nine pro for work phone anyways to replace one of my other phones improve their chip. Other than that. I think it’s a great phone

The tensor g4 is an improvement but the a15 bionic still edges it out. Man, if the pixel had the Snapdragon. Google would be king of android phones. The arguments of Samsung, oneplus or whatever would diminish IMO.

So getting there but that’s 3 years ago I really just think they should use Snapdragon 🤷‍♂️ if they did I truly feel it would be king because everything else is so awesome hardware, cameras, etc and the new build quality is great. I understand not everyone will game or need that much power but to raise the price and have it be a flagship I feel they should really increase the power though it definitely has better cooling now as well 👍

Im looking at video on my pixel 9 pro xl . This phone is really sick compared to my 15 promax. Its smooth like butter and camera is 🔥. The specs dont represent what this phone really puts out far as daily use. The battery is so good that you dont have to charge it thatvmuch through out the day.

I'm in Japan. Actually iPhone is still the most used smartphone here, probably 80%. Many Japanese don't trust Korean or Chinese brand, which is why pixel is the third most popular phone here. (The second place is a Japanese brand called Sharp.)
