So, I'm just an idiot and i wired everything up wrong during the livestream in part 2 of this series.

My go to board now is the Adafruit M4 with Matrix Shield, combined with the Protomatter library. This was the easiest way to drive multiple panels, I needed that for a 64x64 pixel mini-LED-matrix arcade cabinet.

That's a good question. I only know because you mentioned daisy-chaining the in the video. Almost makes me wish I had four more so I could make a cuboid.

Emily, could you share the configuration you made to make this work? After watching your video i snagged up a couple of these purses and wired a panel up according to Brian's instructions, but all i get is red and blue. I cannot get green working. My panels have D3 and D6 grounded in the connector, so i guess you had to do the same changes as me. I tried all kinds of combinations in the software, but no green LED's for me :/

@@EmilysElectricOddities Finally i sat down to trace out all the connections. I had wired the P-out connector with individual jumper wires ... Guess what, i swapped two of them. No wonder it didn't work :D

Some rest is all it takes. :D I'm tempted to buy one of those things. Led-matrices are always fun to mess with :) Yeah, temp could be the reason. I notice the same on mine when I have to crank the temp to max to compensate for its low thermal capacity :)

I should really get a soldering iron with temperature adjustment. It would be a nice addition to my shop

So, that IDC connector came with the breakout board I ordered. I needed another one when I bought a second panel to daisy chain with the first, but I didn't want to pay the $1.50 Digikey was asking, nor did I want to buy 50 of them off ali, so what I ended up doing was cobbling one together out of headers and perfboard. you are not using ESP-32 what you have is ESP-32 mini please correct the name, it took 3 days of my time to figure it out
