Very helpful - i spent 147 minutes last night with google chat to 'help' with factory reset on watch (which i thought would be easier then chatting about 3 issues i had) it was total torture and I'm very techy but their not . Any instructional videos you create for the function-operations-associated apps is so appreciated. Google videos mostly show people giggling and socializing but weak on true content. thanks so much

How long did the initial system update take people? Mine is taking an age!

Very helpful. Unfortunately for me, my watch isn't charging properly. Every time I reached the "system update" message and "waiting for watch to charge", it wouldn't charge and, therefore, stuck in an endless loop. Your video proved to me that the problem was the watch and not me missing something important. I am now waiting for Google to send an email authorizing a return and exchange for a new watch. Great video! Thanks for the attention to detail!

It does the same thing for me too... When I put it to charge the message "waiting for watch to charge" doesn't disappear. However I know the watch is charging because it's written in the bluetooth settings on my phone but the message is still there... So do you think that we have the same problem and that I should return it too?

@@nicolasmarasescu2681 I would definitely say return it. When I returned mine the salesman said he had seen a number of returns. They took it right back and then sent me a new one in the mail. The new one i received is working perfectly and the setup process was seamless. The new watch has paired perfectly with my phone and it performed the software update perfectly. For what it's worth, before I even attempted to pair the new watch with my phone, the first thing I did was put the watch on the charger cord to make sure that it was charging correctly (it was), and then I waited for it to charge fully before attempting to pair it with my phone.

I see you also use the Samsung Wearable app on the phone. Can I link my Samsung Health account on the Pixel Watch 2?

I have Samsung Health because I also test Galaxy watches. I don’t think Samsung health is compatible with the pixel watch, but you might be able to transfer the data from Samsung health to Google fit (probably using a 3rd party app).

I had it tell me that something was wrong and that it needed a factory reset 3 times before I finally got to the system update step and had to charge the watch. It was quite a frustrating experience. I expected better when using it with a Pixel 8 Pro. The largest watch band only fits me on the very last hole. My wrist is not even that big. There are probably a lot of people who just won't be able to fit this small watch to their wrist.

Is there a way to change the display? So it shows only the time but nothing else?

Yes, you can choose "empty" for the complications and then only the time will display.

For the Mandatory firmware update, mine still says waiting for watch to charge despite using either a third-party charger that's compatible with the original google watch (and boasts compatible with the new one if I face the crown a specific way) or the official charger while the charger is connected to my computer (the same port was used to charge my phone prior. So it does actually send power.) The watch eventually idles its screen off. I cannot interact with the watch because that screen that says "Waiting for watch to charge" is all I see. it won't let me use the crown and tapping or swiping does nothing. Edit: So, it seems the Pixel Watch 2 Charger will NOT work while plugged into a desktop computer, even though the same USB-C port will charge my Pixel 8 Pro.

I just plugged my official Pixel Watch 2 charger into my desktop computer and it works for me.

You are not alone. I have the same problem and when I attempt to charge using my PC's USB port it gives me a port surge error and shuts down my desktop PC. Same problem when attempting to use USB port on my laptop.

Charge? Are you referring to Fitbit Premium? If so, Fitbit Premium is an optional service that you have to opt-in to.

I managed to connect the watch through Bluetooth. However, when I use the Google Pixel Watch app on the phone to connect the watch, it keeps showing cannot connect. Attempted to switch the watch on and off. However, it is still not working. Is this a manufacturer default? (as tried 2 different phones, it keeps saying can't connect.)

Fitbit had a huge outage two days ago. There might be some lingering issues on their backend. I had a hard time setting up my device as well with many errors. How far through the setup process have you been able to get? Did you get all the way through and now just shows disconnected or were you even able to get that far?

I do not believe that you needed to switch the bands. All you would have had to do is check the space above indicating that you were wearing it on right wrist with the crown on the left. I believe that you keep you from having to switch bands.
