That was an odd choice to not have his arm compatible with other figures' arms. It's the same forearm sculpt but they changed the internal connector? I'm normally not a fan of the Filmation versions, but they let Blue-Dude keep the traditional belt and fuzzy undies! Happy they did!

I wasn't too thrilled with the original classics Hordak figure, but this one has me on the ropes. If I were to go for any Hordak figure, this would be the one because the colors match the Filmation version, which is how I always pictured Hordak. I just wish it wasn't an exclusive, since that will make it very difficult, not to mention expensive, to get.

I think something that would have made this figure really bad ass, an attachable translucent blast effect for the cannon arm.

This review's bittersweet. I love the figure and all FINALLY a filmation Hordak! :D ....but it's sad to find out about Lou. :( Awesome fig and review and RIP Lou.

I'm totally getting this and already paid for one at an eBay seller coz I can't make it to SDCC.. Totally agree regarding the head and all the "hate" this figure had been getting would've been avoided if only that had been addressed in the 1st place but at least for me, I already got a custom Filmation head waiting for this bad boy. If he didn't have that interchangeable arm, no deal. I do wish you could put the cannon arm on the right side, but I bought a custom cannon that just slides on either arm. The old head sculpt doesn't bother me.

The different attachment peg is really disappointing; having a Filmation Hordak that could "transform" his arm into any of the other attachments would have made this the ultimate Hordak, to me. I'm still looking forward to it, will definitely need a custom head.

I've got to nitpick the description on the card: Hordak doesn't have blue skin, that's just a suit. Nobody thinks Man-At-Arms has green skin. Hordak's skin is white. Also a super-nerdy nitpick for you, Dan: you called that blue thing on his head a mohawk. Mohawks are made of hair. That is a fin. Anyway, great review.

So the Hordak, Trapjaw, and Roboto weapons don't fit in the arm cannon even though it looks just like Huricane hordak's mechanical limb?

Never really cared for Hordak's design in the cartoon. But I did love how he could transform parts of his body into machines and weapons. (It's a kind of magic. ;3 ) In my head cannon, it's the same way he switches out his normal right arm for his hurricane mechanism.

I like the figurine but was mostly disappointed because of the "missing" bone structure around his neck/head. I thought an older or different classics figurine had those.

Cynthia Lopez Cynthia Lopez AGREED 100%! He mentioned he *might* do a collection of his reviews, and acknowledged he'd have to re-shoot several videos now that he's working with HD. I know, as a fan and lifelong collector, that I'd buy it ($20 is probably my limit), but if he released a full-set covering all Vintage, even "Space Weirdos" (to make it complete), the 2000x line and the Matty/Super7 figures, while spending a bit more camera time on their "bio cards", I'd pay beyond $20 for such an encyclopedia-on-disc. He seems a good guy, capable of tackling it and staying true to his newer format. And in the future, append discs could be added or bought separately to complete a concise toy Compendium for MOTU. I vote big him until he does!

always wanted a version of filmation hordak, but I really think matel missed an opportunity here - agree with dan that a new head sculpt would have been a great touch, but how come we only get offered one interchangeable arm? in the cartoon hordak was able to transform many parts of his body - im thinking something along the lines of the modulock release with a load of extra arms, lower body parts etc - just think of all the cool accessories that could have been included with this figure - the least they could have done is package him with two cannon arms - a left and a right.......

At least Failmation Hordak isn't in the sub so I don't have to buy it. Looks nice enough but without a proper Filmation head, it seems pointless. Frustrating he comes with the staff which he never used in the cartoon yet no Filmation head. Imp with a proper Filmation Hordak would have gone down a storm. What a wasted opportunity.

The FIlmation Hordak had really full cheeks, rather than the emaciated look of the toy. It also had a fuller, square jawline with a vaguely mechanical look to it. Basically the toy head looks like a vampire while the Filmation head looks more like a pig nosed cyborg.

LSRamos01 But asking and expecting a more Filmation accurate head sculpt for a variation seems a bit weird when a lot of the Filmation characters such as She-ra, Adora, Frosta. Glimmer ect ect ect were pretty far off from how they look in Filmation. Rather, all of them should just be considered "inspired by" since their head/face sculpts look so vastly different from how they do in the cartoon.

Rods toy box That is why I said "inspired by". All the characters (except for Madam Raz) have been changed, some more drastically than others. Take Adora as an example where it seems probable that the changes to her facial structure was made due to her being Adam's twin. Since they didn't give Adam and He-man a Filmation face but decided to go for a Filmation+original figure mix, then giving Adora Adora wouldn't looked like she was his sister at all had they kept the face. I.E I guess it can be said that it is the original figures that are to blame for the figures not looking more than "inspired by".

Wow. I usually agree with you on your reviews, but I can't help but disagree with you here. I know it would've been nice for him to be as close to the Filmation as possible, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I wish I could include this figure in my collection, and you should be grateful he was achieved in this series at all. Love your vids, but disagree with you here. Keep up the great work sir!

This figure is a complete miss IMO. It could have been so awesome with a new head and bone cowl plus a second robotic arm! Vykron comes with a trillion pieces but the Hordak from the toons comes with an arm and Imp? Really lame Matty!
