Happened to me too -- left on stove and went to sleep. I basically re-enacted the CDDA start. That's why now I always dismantle the electric stoves out of habit and rely on antique oven, BBQ grill, or fireplaces for safe cooking. Campfires are safe as long as I don't walk into one, lol.

If you REALLY want a safe base to rebuild society, Muldraugh offers two options: 1.) the Muldraugh gated community is THE safest spot you can set a stronghold in. As long as you block all the four entryways you never have to worry about Zombies ever again, as long as you make sure you jump over the existing fences rather than making any gates. 2.) the Muldraugh Railyard does require a bit of work to fence off, but Zombies mostly spawn within it rather than around it. Once the area is enclosed, the Zombie spawn in the vicinity is minimal.

After having dedicated playthroughs on all of the cities/towns in PZ... the Gated Community in Muldraugh remains as my favorite base. Securing the entire neighborhood always feels satisfying and rewarding. There's enough houses for several players too.

Or, hear me out, the storage units near the really big roadside warehouse in muldragh. Good loot nearby, each one could be an individual house/building, easy to walk off shape, low zomboid pop, very close to the big city.

The gas station outside of the Military Check Point on the highway to Louisville is also a great base location. It has gas, two buildings with apartments above them, food, two large fences, a large car park, easy access to a nearby wood and pond and its in a great location to stage loot runs into Louisville, the County Mall, West Point, several warehouses and a school. Its also surprisingly quiet - once you clear out the highway.

How did you get your scrap armor and whatnot to work on a server in that version? I used to use it a lot but after trying again every once and a while it just doesnt spawn in the armor, barely a few of the scrap weapons and the magazines don't teach the recipes; nothing shows in the spawn menu for admin
