I remember one time when I was in London and we were eating in a restaurant, and I asked for salt and pepper. I thought they would come with a little basket with salt and pepper crutches in it. NO, he brought a big grinder, he touched it so little, and asked adamantly if it was enough. ... They were hardly three grains on my food. And after a lot of back and forth, I got to season my own food. The looks I got from all the British staff and guests was ridiculous. 😅
