Brutus called her bluff, typically snakes that bite and use venom don't constrict their prey as well, like she did to Mr. Wrinkles. She was just going off of her instincts, never expected an ex-military dog to figure her out. 😏

I thought it was gonna be they dumped her in the wild on purpose because they didn't want her anymore, and it was gonna be like a lil PSA against that. Who takes their pet snake out for a day at the park? 🤨 (Though I'm not saying you can't, necessarily...)
@ZolaRenard_0111 ай бұрын
@@ShadowNinetales Honestly, the snake could just wander off or someone took her. My friends and I often took our snakes on our regular monthly gathering for reptiles show and every now and then someone from the crowd often came up and borrowed our snakes for photos. It's not that hard for someone to sneak out on us during busy hour and stole one of them. This almost happened a couple of times, until we hire more staff to help out. And yes, someone else from our community had one of his snakes stolen a couple months ago. As for this story, someone could just take the snake and lost her later on after failing to secure the bag tightly (yes, it's that easy to steal a snake)

I knew she wasn’t venomous. Seeing as how Brutus served in the middle east he’s probably seen as many snakes as I have. Most venomous snakes are vipers, and her head shape is definitely not a viper. Aww! I would totally help out the little snakey! Pootlr thing was lost and hungry! Also fun fact! You can tell if a snake is venomous (not poisonous. That's if *you* bite it) by thier eyes. If the snake has round pupils, like in the comic, they are harmless, if the have slit or diamond shaped ones then they are venomous. However, most snakes will do what is known as a "dry bite". They will bite yes, but most of time they won't use thier venom cause it takes a lot of energy to replenish thier supply. But I wouldn't risk finding out in my personal opinion, also infections are just as nasty as being injected with venom.
@sophiedowney10779 ай бұрын
That's not entirely true about the eyes. That only applies to certain areas. In Utah, the only dangerous venomous snakes are rattlesnakes, so that's true for Utah. But if you live somewhere with coral snakes, that's not true at all and could get someone killed. Black mambas also have round eyes.

Most All snakes technically have venom to use on prey. Venomous often just means it has a higher potency of venom making it dangerous. For example both a bee and a king cobra have venom but theres a huge difference in potency. A bee sting will hurt alot but wont kill you. A king cobra bite on the other hand will.
@dransnake11 ай бұрын
No not all snakes have venom. While there are a lot that do have some, there's plenty that don't. This ranges from nonfunctioning venom to flat out not having venom glands. Also using a bee vs a king cobra isn't a fair comparison, as a bee is an insect. I would have used a garter snake as an example, as they have a very mild venom but no effective way of distribution. But sometimes their bites can cause swelling, especially if they hold on for long. Nothing that can kill you, but definitely a skin irritant like a bee sting But then you have snakes like corn snakes that have no venom at all in their bites and honestly don't even do much damage. Just a tiny pinch with minimal bleeding and no irritation to go with it. Kind of feels like an angry stapler gently nipping you 😂

You can get an infection due to a snake bite, that doesn't mean the snake that bit you is venomous, it just means that you got yourself an infection. For a snake to be venomous it must be able to produce said venom and inject it into the prey, that's why almost every venomous snake have fangs (I won't say all of 'em have fangs 'cause nature is weird like that, but as a general rule of thumb they have 'em).
