Consider that they had just gotten back together. David hadn't been playing, IIRC, he'd been doing illusions and bouncing around on friends' couches. Joey was doing small film scores, or something like that. Kim was getting sober. Only Frank Black/Charles has been somewhat regularly performing live. But, yes... it's a rough performance.
