Awesome tutorial! To correct color shifting when dodging and burning with Curves, it sometimes also helps to set the blend mode of the Curves layer to Luminosity.
@criticaltinker7 жыл бұрын
nah it's turns grayesh when you do that. normal is better. to fix color it's better to create a new blank layer and change the blending mode to color. sample colors to nearby with a brush with 100% opacity and 1% flow then gradually brush the affected areas.

I am sure someone has told you by now but in case. Dodge and burn it from the film days. When enlarging a print in the darkroom one would block the light from getting to the paper making the area lighter…aka dodging. Or when more light was added to an area it was…aka burning. The most common tools were cardboard taped to coat hangers, I would use my hands in weird shapes plus the tools. And feathering was just moving the tool back and forth slow or fast.

I think when you are doing dodging and burning using curves it's better to change the blend mode to luminosity.
@PiXimperfect7 жыл бұрын
+Gireesh Pai I covered this in a recent video titled the best way to increase contrast. You can sure use luminosity, however it sometimes discolors the image. Plus, you lose the option to use hue/saturation as it has no effect on color.

Very good tutorial for technic but i don't agree with you about the final result. In fact i think that the final result looks really fake and it seems that the girl has a kind of mask on her face. I think there is too much manipulations and it doesn't improve the model. It is a danger with Photoshop to go too far in the improvement. It is my opinion. But i see all your tutorials and i learn a lot with them. go ahead. I love you ;) Sheers from France and Happy new year

I think he can afford a dual 4K 34 inch HDR monitor configuration, 128gb of R, 2 Titan Vs, 2 Ryzen Threadripper 1900x with monster cooling, a 500$ case, 10TB of SSD storage + 20TB HDD (not too realistic the storage configuration, but it's OK), a 1500W 80+ Platinum PSU and some top notch motherboard, but he just shows us that our computers are not an excuse to not progress/start Photoshop
