Pizza Club Raphael is Cool but Ehh

If you get the punk Turtles you can give the bottom half of their alterative faces to the pizza club turtles and it makes them look so much better, very cartoon accurate, that's now I have mine

Yup I got em! Good for us who got em. I think the downside is for the people that only have the pizza club. Where I would hope for them, they would get a future accessory set with all the expressions to swap especially if they aren’t a completionist.

I just ordered all 4 of these. I started collecting turtles and, while I go for the dark and gritty ones, I have a soft spot for the original cartoon because it's my childhood. That's why I got them. I don't like the faces on mikey and Leo though. I display them in a battle ready group pose and those smiles don't fit. So I plan on disassembling both Leo heads to give him an angry look with regular eyeballs and give mikey a non smiling mouth. I could just save me the hassle and get the TID or something earlier but they do for stupid prices now

I love the options of the swap ability. The original releases were all stuck on angry face so I like the different expressions you can switch for TID and Turtles in disguise. I think after three sets of turtles I don’t need to buy anymore lol the accessories got me in these but I will have self control next time they release a new version

@thomasgoesnostalgic i can understand that. If I had the TID or actually any other of the previous ones, I'd be done with that line too. Which is a good thing considering neca has announced the 2012 cartoon turtles and mety toys turtles are now going on pre-order. Damnit...

@ yea I can mark myself safe from the 2012 line. Not going down that rabbit hole. Luckily toon characters are only trickling out now and I have opted not to buy the dios since I just make want I want to display. Only saw like 6 new toons figures announced so at least this won’t be a big spend year

If you could only keep some turtles, be it the in disguise ones, the pizza club ones or the two packs from 2019 regardless of the difference in costs, which one would you choose that was more faithful to the original series from the 80s?

@@sergioruiz5784 man, if I could mix and match I would take all of the accessories from Pizza Club and stuff them into TID. But if I had to pick one it would be TID mainly for expression options

Awesome video! I was lucky enough to snag all four of the Pizza Club Turtles and I must say I'm quite happy with them. From what I've seen the Pizza Club set is my favorite mostly because of the amazing color and finish NECA went with this time around. The Turtles in Disguise set is amazing but I'm no fan of the shiny finish on the skin. The biggest travesty of this latest set however is the lack of alternate portraits. These should have come with a swappable head I think. Otherwise I'm quite happy to have them.

I agree! The alternative heads would have brought these guys to the top. For the unique accessories each one comes with they are better than TID. Hopefully they come out with a second accessory set maybe to make up for that (but of course more money) haha

I love the pizza club turtles, but the TID is my favorite set as well- it came with tons of accesories. If you already have the TID set, you probably dont need the Pizza Club turtles, although the spinning bo staff accesory that comes with Donnie is awesome. I got lucky with my TID set and got the all matte version, so the facial expressions are swapable with the Pizza Club turtles.

I think TID are my overall winner. I would have much preferred getting all the awesome Pizza Club accessories in a box set but NECA got my money like always haha

When I found these at Target, I looked them over and thought these would make great supplements to my Turtles in Disguise set. I see the appeal as they would be great on their own, but I find myself not liking Raphael's sais with this set. They're too thick looking. I do get it that's how they're drawn in the show, but I prefer the thin ones that came with Raphael's past releases. So far, I've gotten Donatello with these releases because I liked his spinning bo effect. Out of these single releases, I like Donatello and Michelangelo the best. I'm not sure if I want Leonardo or Raphael yet. For someone who has the Turtles in Disguise set, the accessories and heads are the main selling points for me.

Yea I totally agree with you. Cool to have the options on the different sais but I prefer the older ones. They all have their selling points with the accessories but I don’t know if it’s enough to buy a whole new set. I really did question myself when buying a whole new set of turtles haha

I don’t think it had a specific name. It was the set released 2019 and also release in four pack at San Diego Comic Con

@@asif80 the figures are named after the box art…Pizza Club=Burger King Kids Club….the whole point of these figures is the box they come in duhhhh 😆 but I didn’t really buy them because of the box. I bought them because I’m stupid and didn’t need another set of turtles. So maybe if I tell myself there is a new reason to own these turtles like cool box art I can justify in my head :)

@@thomasgoesnostalgic I know what they are based on. But unless I plan on selling them 20 years from now I just want the figures and the rest is trash to me. Too each their own. Ps they made four versions with just a little bit of head changes. I don't think I can afford every single one so unless you have millions of pounds in your bank, I'll stick to maybe one box set.

@@thomasgoesnostalgic ps you're not stupid. I love every single figure neca do it's just the price where I live. I can't get them shipped unless I buy them off eBay, which is 10 times more almost nor I have the space to display them as I should what can one do?. Literally my whole childhood and the fact I couldn't afford them then and to see exact figures now is too much of a temptation not to buy them lol
