A&Z #994 - Randy Santel vs the Pizza Ranch Combo Pack Pizza Challenge w/ Crispy Broasted Chicken at the Pizza Ranch location in Wichita, Kansas!! A few weeks after finishing my February & March Florida Tour with @KatinaEatsKilos, I started a Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour. For event #23, I traveled down to Wichita, Kansas to become the first person to attempt and help kick off the new Pizza Ranch Combo Pack Challenge with pizza and crispy broasted chicken at the Pizza Ranch location owned by my friend and franchisee Doug. I had 45 minutes to feast on an entire Pizza Ranch "Combo Pack" that included a medium pizza, a whole broasted chicken cooked in a pressure cooker, a large side which could be split into 2 smaller sides, and a "Cactus Bread" dessert pizza. The ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie in the video was something optional I added for fun. I was trying to win my $31.99 Pizza Ranch Combo Pack free plus a sweet t-shirt & hat and the first spot on the Wichita location's Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to Doug the owner & franchisee and everyone with Wichita Pizza Ranch for the wonderful pizza, chicken, drinks, desserts, and hospitality!! Pizza Ranch's Combo Pack Pizza Challenge w/ Crispy Broasted Chicken in Wichita, KS ($31.99):
- There are over 230 Pizza Ranch locations around the United States. To find a location nearest you, please check out their website: www.pizzaranch.com
- This Combo Pack Challenge is only available at the Pizza Ranch location in Wichita, Kansas.
- With the Combo Pack, you get a medium hand-tossed pizza plus a whole broasted chicken (2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings, and 2 legs), a large side item, and an order of "Cactus Bread" dessert pizza. The ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie was something optional that I added because I wanted to try one.
- I ordered a Stampede Pizza which is like a Supreme Pizza with multiple meats and veggies.
- All of the foods in this video are available on the buffet at your local Pizza Ranch location.
- There was a 45 minute time limit to finish this entire challenge. You think you could finish?

Hi Randy, I became acquainted with broasted fried chicken at a restaurant in Ellisville, Breeden's. Frank, the owner/cook had a footlong hotdog stand on Manchester Road in about the Maplewood area, sold it and opened the restaurant in around the early 1960's. Whenever we went to St. Louis for shopping Dad would stop there for "special" hot dogs. There were no big stores in Ellisville back then so we went to Maplewood for school clothes and appliances. Dad and I would each eat a half chicken and sides. Mom and my sister shared a half chicken. I believe that most of today's commercial chicken is broasted to save a ton of time. Great job on the challenge. I know it was delicious! Say hi to Katrina.

Their fried chicken is some of the best I've had. I believe they do a dredge right before cooking it in a pressure fryer. If you can find a spot that has one of those, it's a good start! :EDIT: maybe not, he said broasted.

It's always good to see you dominate, Randy. The best part of the video was hearing you like fried chicken that is cold. I prefer fried chicken that's sat in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. My friends and family think I'm crazy but it's delicious that way.

I use to do broasted chicken back in the day! Best way to have chicken cooked, the year was in between 1984 to 1988 can not bet it, so tender and Crispy this way , wished I had a broaster at home lol, from Connersville Indiana!

Man, I miss Pizza Ranch. When I was on tour, I would hit a few locations so often I used to have my Ranch Rewards card on my keychain. And yes, the chicken is awesome.
